Lighthouse — Restaurant in Municipality of Marathonas

Location : the restaurant is located near the sea so the view and the feeling of eating or drinking beside the sea where waves are crushing is great.

Food : A little bit expensive but of quite good quality and taste . Not representing of the price though. Half of the products are frozen not fresh. For a fish restaurant this is not acceptable.

Service : all the boys who are responsible for the service and the customer care are very gentle and they know how to treat you in a pleasant way. The same could be probably said about the owner. However they are a little bit slow in delivering the order. I have been here too many times in the past and it was always the same.

Rest facilities : their sunbeds sometimes are free. However they claim that they are reserved. What i didn't like is the fact that none have come there far. I believe that was rude and was based on your visit. If you are about to spend money they will let you sit there otherwise they will say that sunbeds are reserved even if none is about to come. Tell you lies and laugh at you in that way is not professional at all.

A lovely spot right at the edge of the sea. We sat at a small table set up on the beach next to the sea. The calm lapping wave always in the background. We got treated to an amazingly brilliant red moon rise that turned to various shades of orange and yellow as it rose higher in the sky.

The food was brilliant. Taramosalata as a starter dip. The deep fried langostines melted in your mouth. The Octopus wasn't quite up to what I'm use to having in Greece, but still a good dish, and the fish was delicate, tender, moist and delicious. I highly recommend this place. Family business, with extraordinary well prepared and delicious food! Lighthouse salad, fried squid, octopus, fried potatoes and whatever you may desire is on the menu for starters. If your in for fresh fish, ask Giannis, he will assist you regardless your preferences and they will prepare them accordingly if they are for you or our little ones!!
