⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Chamolia Fish Tavern is easily one of my all-time favorite spots in Athens, and I’ve been coming here for over 6-8 years for a reason! The moment you arrive, you’ll be greeted by the friendliest faces—Giannis and Iakobos—who basically run the place like a well-oiled machine. Alongside their amazing team, they ensure that every visit feels like coming home to old friends. What really sets Chamolia apart is its variety of seating options: there’s a cozy indoor area (complete with a fireplace!), a semi-outdoor space for a more open-air vibe, and a full outdoor section that boasts breathtaking views. No matter where you choose to sit, you’ll be treated to the freshest fish in town—try the delicious fried kalamari, perfectly crispy French fries, and don’t miss their heavenly “γαυράκι.” Plus, if you love salads, the Chamolia salad with crab meat is an absolute must. And to top it all off, they serve amazing sweets each time you visit! If you’re a pasta fan, the shrimp pasta with red sauce is a showstopper—trust me, you’ll be dreaming about it long after you’ve left. One tip: if you really want to experience Chamolia at its best, go on days when it’s less crowded. That way, the team can pamper you with their full attention and deliver that 5/5 quality they’re known for. But hey—let’s keep this gem between close friends, okay? With food this good, it could go viral any day now, and we don’t want to have to wait in line forever to get our seafood fix! In all seriousness, a massive “thank you” to everyone at Chamolia Fish Tavern. After so many years of top-notch meals and memories, I can’t wait to see what’s on the menu next. Definitely a must-visit if you’re in Athens!

A great fish taverna in Vravrona. The fried starters and dishes were delicious, crisp and perfectly cooked. The almyra greens (sea asparagus) crunchy and tender, the tsipoura grilled over charcoal juicy and flavoursome. Service is friendly, even on the incredibly busy Sunday lunch service. They also offered us watermelon at the end of the meal. Lovely views. A bit noisy with a lot of families.

Exceptional service. Delicious food. The most idyllic setting. The staff are so welcoming and really make you feel like very special guests without any airs and graces. We ate here twice on our last trip to the area for a long weekend and now day 1 of this trip and will definitely be back again this week.

While I don't write reviews often, my experience here was so divided that we felt it was important to share.

First, the positives: the service was friendly, and the location is absolutely stunning. Dining with such a beautiful view was a definite highlight.

Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the setting. We focused on the octopus and shrimp dishes, and were consistently disappointed.

Octopus in Vinegar: The texture of the octopus was acceptable, but the dish was surprisingly bland. The "vinaigrette" seemed to be missing its key ingredient—vinegar. It tasted simply of olive oil, lacking any of the acidity.

Grilled Octopus: This was, regrettably, one of the most poorly prepared octopus dishes we have ever had. It was incredibly chewy and had a distinct "off" flavor that made it unpleasant to eat - unsurprisingly, most of it was left uneaten.

Shrimp Ceviche: This dish was not what I expected from a classic ceviche. The raw shrimp were roughly chopped (badly chopped) and served on a flat plate, meaning they weren't properly marinating in the citrus sauce. While the sauce itself was delicious, it was more of a garnish than a marinade. The only other garnish were a few cilantro leaves. Most concerningly, several of the shrimp were not properly cleaned and still had their veins. This one was also mostly left intact on the plate when we left.

I recognize that fish is the main specialty here, and perhaps we would have had a better experience if I had ordered that. However, based on the dishes we tried, we left feeling quite let down. It was a disappointing final meal for our...

The worst service I have seen in Greece. I went on a not so busy Sunday with my nice and her 7 month baby. Besides the fact that they gave as a horrible service at our table there were 3 violent drunkards sitting on our next table cursing loudly and banging on their table while they kept ordering drinks. They scared the baby and we decided to leave. Of course we had to wait for our check but the waitress was to busy bringing them more drinks. Finally they got up to leave fighting who is going to drive the car while falling all over the tables. When I finally got the check, I complained to the waitress that the store is responsible for protecting its customers, and the management should refuse to give them more drinks when they are so visibly intoxicated. I asked to speak with the manager. She returned with another waiter pretending to be the manager crying to him and pointing to me she said. He is the one that made me cry. He said it's my fault. The "manager" then went on to say that there is nothing they can do and the law says that they can't deny anyone to drink.... I felt that I was 50 years behind. In a 3rd world...
