If you have the opportunity to eat here, do it. We have been in Margarites for 4 days and have eaten at Mantalos every single night. After the first meal we knew we needed to come back as many times as possible. The food is incredible, fresh, and delicious. Every single dish we have tried we have loved. The feta is some of the best I have ever had. The souvlaki was so delicious, the herbs they use on every meal compliment the freshness perfectly. One of my favorite things we had were the stuffed squash blossoms.

We will be making a repeat trip to Greece just to come back here. Not just for the food but the people are some of the most genuine, friendly people we have ever met. Mantalos has been the highlight...

Restaurant Mantalos was recommended to us by the pottery craftsmen from the Kerameion shop , who gave us a phenomenal presentation of pottery making. The host was excellent and secured us a table by the fence with a stunning view of the olive grove, the Cretan mountains, and the sea. We ordered the goat specialty and the lamb specialty, along with the Mantalas salad. The meal was delicious and deserves a 10/10. What a cute place! Nestled amongst some trees with an amazing view of the countryside. It was nice and breezy - a perfect place to cool off and have a meal. We went vegetarian today and had the house salad, Briam and Gigantes. Now I make Briam and Gigantes all the time so I know how these dishes should taste. Let me tell you, they were absolutely delicious! Home made and not just your standard throw down something for the tourist.
