Thalassopetra Tavern — Restaurant in Municipality of Milos

The food was ok, and the location easy to access if you were previously at the beach, too bad that they shamelessly try to rip you off on top of the service being very slow. First of all, the half a liter bottle of water costs 50 cents by law, so they kept the price there BUT they put the price of the 1 liter bottle at 1.5 euros to make an extra 50 cents per bottle. When we got our check we noticed that the order cost us 3 euros more than expected. We told the waiter about it and they come to us after a while claiming that the 1.5 euros that the bread is priced on the menu is actually per person which wasn't stated on the menu. What we received by the way were two tiny loafs meant for one person each, a miniscule amount to what is expected for that price ANYWHERE. I usually don’t review when I have a bad experience cause there is many factors influencing on your feedback but this time, I have to convince u not to go.

The food is a disaster, reheated in the microwave, frozen food. Waiter lost, doesn't know what to do, comes back 2x with the same dish and is surprised that you've already been served. They serve the dishes ten minutes apart. you only have to look at the kitchen to understand that nothing goes right in this restaurant.

Unfortunately, it's the only restaurant in the area.

We have made our way to this place serval times during our week stay in Milos. The staff went out of their way to make sure we were happy with the food and service. The fried kalamari was amazing, the lamb in lemon sauce was out of this world and we will most certainly be revisiting again next year. Our little one wanted to eat spaghetti bolognese that wasn’t on the menu and the made it for her without an issue every single time (4 in total).
