Café "Drilis" Naxos — Restaurant in Municipality of Naxos and the Lesser Cyclades

This place was absolutely lovely. The food was great (grilled up right outside the restaurant for all to see) and the family was extremely friendly.

As an anecdote of how they truly went above and beyond, we had our 21 month old along with us and when we showed they clearly didn't have a high chair. We told them that would be fine, but one of the family members rode off, bought a high chair from somewhere, and then the entire family worked to put it together for us before making our food. True experience of Greek hospitality in an unassuming local cafe. We arrived after 9pm and it was very windy, a table of locals gave their seats up for us so we can have shelter from the wind, and they moved inside. Very heartwarming experience. We had Greek salad, fried potatoes, tzatziki, and pork kalamaki. Everything was fresh and amazing. Only point to note is they don’t double fry the potatoes so they are not crispy. VA Capito Se la domanda è "si mangia bene?" La mia risposta è "assolutamente si" Ma il posto è molto di più e completamente unico. Si tratta di un minimarket, con prezzi tra l'altro convenienti, che fa anche da bar e ristorante. La gestione è completamente famigliare con le generazioni di un grande famiglia presenti e attive. La sera accendono il barbecue a carbone e dalle 20 fino a notte fonda grigliano carne in continuo e in continuo arriva gente. Per lo più i clienti sono locali. Il locale è molto spartano ma non cambierei molto, solo l'illuminazione, al posto delle luci a 6000k metterei lampadine a 3000k e sotto la veranda al posto dei neon metterei delle catenarie luminose con tante lampadine a 3000 kelvin. Chi ci lavora è davvero gentile, con gran sorrisi e passione. Ci abbiamo mangiato diverse sere, i souvlaki sono buonissimi anche se le mie preferite sono le bracioline di agnello e le patate fritte che fanno con patate loro.
