Vlahos — Restaurant in Municipality of Naxos and the Lesser Cyclades

Very nice place. We are visiting Naxos with my wife and teenage children and the food, ambiance and attention from the servers & manager (owner perhaps?) was superb. Although we went at night, their outdoor dinning seems to have a spectacular view of the city of Naxos (we could see the entire "ocean of lights" down the hill. We had fried cheese (Saganaki) which was gone in seconds after they served it (delicious), Dakos Salad, stuffed tomatoes which all of us said was the most delicious dish we have tried in our trip so far (4 days), pork chops, steak, and strewed beef. Basically we tried a lot of options in the menu and no regrets in either one. The prices were extremely reasonable, when you compare it with other more touristic places (€83, dinner for 5 people, our kids already eat like adults). The location was beautiful, with a beautiful view. And lovely interiors too. The staff were friendly. Lots of cats.

Food wise, compared to all the Greek taverns and restaurant we visited the last 7 days, this place had smaller quantities. We were charged extra for the bread that they usually give for free. And we found The prices were higher in comparison to other taverns and in relation to the quantities served.

Taste wise, we really enjoyed the Pork steak. It was Juicy and flavourful.

If you order the burger, these are served as beef patties and pita bread, with fresh fries. Not your traditional burgers with buns. So don't expect a burger.

The salad ordered was lots of chopped tomatoes, cheese,olives over crispy bread.

The Greek coffee was also intresting. Completely different flavour to a usual cappuccino....

Blachos is a very unassuming restaurant while exploring the villages of Naxos, which only adds to its charm. You enter a broad patio in the back with a beautiful view of the ocean and the island. Even on warm days a steady breeze cools you down as the wonderful hostess greets you. The menu is simple, with all of the ingredients being sourced from the island, including the meat.

Which leads to the actual food. Quite simply, the best pork I may have had in my life. I don't say that idlely, this food was simply amazing. For dessert order some Greek yogurt with fresh strawberry or apricot compote to complete the meal. Wine is only 6 euros a litre.
