Crazy Shrimp — Restaurant in Municipality of Naxos and the Lesser Cyclades

After being ripped off by several tourist spots we took the time to come out to the country and experience the real Greek hospitality. The meals are massive and come with come with a heap of hand cut chips. All produce in salads is from up the road and you can tell. The tomatoes are sweet and juicy and not dry. The seafood is tasty. The Fetta in the Greek salad is something my godmother used to make. Annnnd it's at crazy cheap prices. We paid half the price for the same volume of food at the tourist hot spot but to top it all off not only is this the best heartfelt food but it's run by the loveliest lady who gave us orange cake as a gesture from her to end...

UPDATE 05.09.2024 Nach meiner Bewertung hat mich der Besitzer des Restaurants auf Social Media kontaktiert und mich mit 9 Nachrichten bombadiert. Auch die Antwort von dem Restaurant ist unverständlich für mich, wir haben fast volle Teller retourniert, und das Servicepersonal daraufhingewiesen. Das uns das Restaurant außerhalb der Öffnungszeiten bedient hat ist falsch. Ich kann nun jedoch verstehen wieso das Restaurant wenig schlechte Bewertungen hat, wenn man danach von den Besitzer belästigt wird.

Wir haben dieses Restaurant aufgrund zahlreicher GUTEN Bewertungen auf unserer Auto Tour durch Naxos besucht. Das Restaurant wirkt absolut nicht einladent. Einer der beiden Kellnerinen, sprach mit uns kein Wort stellte einfach alles am Tisch drehte sich um und ging. Fragen wollten oder konnten nicht beantwortet werden. Nach gut 30 min kamen dann Vorspeisen und Hauptspeisen zusammen an den Tisch, wir hatten als Hauptspeise die frittierten Shrimps und frittierten Squid. Nach den ersten bissen, dann die pure enttäuschung das Essen roch extrem unangenehm, alles ist im Öl / Fett geschwommen und es hatte einfach nach altem Frittierfett geschmeckt. Bei der Rechnung kam dann noch die Überraschung, das Brot das bei unseren Griechischen Salat dabei war wurde extra in Rechnung gestellt. Sat down for a quick drink. The place is located in a cosy street in a small, traditional Naxian town. The waitress seemed very grumpy and unfriendly. Perhaps it was because she just couldn't speak English. Anyways, 4 stars are deserved for the location...
