Tourist trap, don't eat anything there! That was the most expensive restaurant in Paxoi/Antipaxoi without it being anything special. We were charged 8 euros for bread (for 4 people) we never ordered, 12 euros for a Greek salad and 8 euros for an average-tasting portion of fries. We ordered 2 snappers that cost 75 euros/kg on the menu. We were told that they were 600gr each even though the second one was obviously smaller. However, we were charged for 110 euros for both- even if both were 600gr, we should have paid 90 euros. I am now checking comments from other customers and I can tell it's all true! The prices other customers quote are always different as the owners make up prices and overcharge you. It's a rip off.
Update based on owner's comment: the prices on the menu are not legible and as you can see from many other customer comments, not consistent. Also, the bill was showing 4 cocktails for 40 euros but we had only ordered 3 - when we questioned it, we were told that it's actually 3 of them and their prices vary. It's obvious that they just decide on the spot how much they will charge you. It's not a fine dining place to...
Read moreWe came here earlier in the day and ordered a can of beer and a Coke Zero — it cost €11. Expensive, but we let it go, assuming it was just overpriced like a lot of tourist spots.
Later, we went back — mostly because it was close by and we thought maybe the high price earlier was just a fluke. That time, we got a Cornetto, a Magnum, another beer, and another Coke Zero — and it came to €12. So, somehow, nearly triple the items cost just one euro more? Makes no sense.
Then I went in a third time for one more Cornetto — and was told it would be €6. When I said “no thanks” and tried to put it back, the manager actually tried to haggle with me over the price. What kind of place makes up prices on the spot and then bargains like it’s a market stall?
We’ve had a brilliant time in the Ionian — the people have been amazing, warm, and honest everywhere we’ve been. This place was the complete opposite: opportunistic, unfriendly, and clearly out to take advantage of tourists.
Don’t waste your money here. Go next door — half the price, no games, and a much...
Read moreI ordered a grilled octopus that wasn’t anything special. My friend ordered a meatball dish with rice and fries. At first, we thought they brought out a small sample plate for us to try as compliments from the kitchen, turns out that was the whole dish. The portions were ridiculously small. We ordered two main dishes (one of which I wouldn’t consider a dish) a salad and a small appetizer. The bill was 83€. They broke down the charges and turns out they didn’t leave a single thing off the table including being charged for the bread they brought in a basket that is always free at a restaurant. We tried to pay with card and they more or less gave an excuse to doge paying taxes and urged we pay with cash. The waiter, who seemed to be one of the owners urged we write a review on trip advisor , well here it is. Avoid this place at all costs they are truly just operating to rob tourists. You are better off taking the 15 min boat ride back to Paxos and...
