Read morethe gray-haired short gentleman with glasses selling BOAT and BUS tickets at the cafe is a "great" asset of the tour company. I wanted to clarify with him if a transit through Souga or Hora Sfakion is faster. He articulated that through Hora Sfakion it is "much-much longer" (yes, notice that double "much"). So I opted for Souga. The ferry was supposed to depart from Agia Roumeli at 5p, connecting to a bus in Souga, at 18:15. In Souga, There were about 4 buses towards Chania waiting; our left at 18:45 and all of those buses went through Omalos - which made the trip longer (why there could not be one direct bus to CHania is probably the 8th Wonder for this bus company). The bus ride from Hora Sfakion takes supposedly 1hr.45 min. Route from Souga is pretty much one winding-road roller-coster, so best of luck to all with motion sickness - and we arrived around 21h in Chania. You don't have to be Alan Turing to do the math here. So make a smarter choice and say "much-much Hello" to the ticket expert at the...

Watch out, they are selling “ferry” tickets which are actually for a private boat that does not leave from the main dock at the end of the hike in Agia Roumeli. We purchased what we thought were ferry tickets from them, but it turned out to be tickets for a separate boat which takes off from another beach, and we missed it. We then had to run around to buy tickets for the actual “anendyk” public ferry before it left. They refused to give our money back for the their private boat. The bus tickets they sold were legitimate though, from Sougia back to the parking lot where we...
