ERGON Agora (East) — Restaurant in Municipality of Pylaia - Chortiatis

Many seafood ingredients/ways of cooking are not available, the actual options are not as plentiful as menu appears. I’d like to revisit soon for verifying if it’s common scenario or it’s just my luck of that day. With that being said, all the dishes i ordered were tasty with appropriate amount. Although prices for salads and steaks are comparatively higher than the general market prices in Thessaloniki, I’d give it a try to see if it’s worthy for having steaks at this beach side venue. Highly recommended to order smoked sardine gyro and armenonville lemon semifreddo, as both of them have not only innovative and rich flavours but intriguing textures also which made them unique from other restaurants.

I believed that the design of service proceeding is quite considerate but unfortunately the performance is somehow amateur. Except the fact that the blonde PR lady in blazer was very thorough, kind and friendly, the rest of service staffs in khaki aprons are rather rigid with poker face and unfamiliar with the menu.

The atmosphere here was relaxed with various choices of seats inc, outdoor with beach/garden view, semi-indoor balcony for groups and spacey indoor with enough distance between tables, it is suitable for couple or casual business meeting group to enjoy a calm and not so noisy time. Reserved a table for lunch time at 14:00 Arrived the table was not even set, not appropriate number of chairs or tables for our 8 pax group,we were directed to the table and we had to get chairs ourselves,later a waiter came and helped with moving a table and joining it with the others. At least half an hour later no one even interested to come pick our order for at least the drinks,head waiters with black t-shirts totally ignorant and lacking the motivation to work while you watched the other waiters/runners running around like headless chickens. After 50 mins a woman came with a black shirt and short hair to take our order with a pen that didn’t work and a piece of paper,we ordered drinks came 20 mins later and in total we had to wait for almost 2 hours for our food to arrive which was not all of it so some people were eating and some were looking,the other plates came after 30’ and the cherry to the cake is they brought the bread last,after we ordered second round of drinks they never came and after 20’ a waiter came and said we our out of Nymph beer keg(do I need to say more) Absolutely dissapointed we ve brought some friends from Ireland to have a good time and a taste of our hospitality and this was a letdown. We visited for morning coffee and breakfast. Unfortunately, we waited for more than a half an hour without being served our food. When some dishes from the order came they were served cold and had become chewy. They took the order back to the kitchen only to serve them - reheated - after we asked for the bill. One dish never came (koulouri and poached egg-more than 40minutes wait!) . We insisted to pay only for our coffees and thankfully after asking 2 different restaurant representatives we managed to pay. The service was highly unprofessional and regretfully disappointing. Unfortunately they were disorganised, kept asking each other what happened or where our order was. For such a heafty price for breakfast dishes you would expect food to be served in the right temperature and in a timely manner. The most irritating moment though was when one of the managers indicated that the food was on the house yet failed to realise that we ate no food nor were we served the food we ordered. Cherry on top, when we placed our order it was just after 10am with the restaurant just about quarter full with ample Staff available to serve customers, or so one would expect.
