Wedding Celebrations at ‘Memorable Mimakos Taverna’
Just returned from a fantastic time in Rhodes to celebrate our daughters wedding.
We had many restaurants to choose from for the reception venue but Mimakos Taverna came highly recommended to us from our Greek friends and after visiting for an evening night out a few days prior to the wedding arrangements were made and all our requests were happily taken on board by Stefanos and OH BOY they did not disappoint us at all.
The wedding took place on a Tuesday and this coincided with Mimakos Greek night with live singing and amazing traditional Greek dancing. From the time we walked in to the time we left Mimakos and his son Stafanos could not have done more for us and made it such a very special evening, with amazing tasty food and entertainment. The service was exceptional and the warmth, love and happiness we were shown from the entire Mimakos crew was outstanding.
We would like to say such a huge thank you to Mimakos, Stefanos and the hard working staff for giving our Daughter and Son-in-Law such a wonderful, fantastic and memorable wedding evening that we will all remember for a very long time.
We highly recommend this Taverna and look forward to visiting them again.. especially on a Tuesday to relive those amazing Greek themed evenings.
Thank you all so very much and for all those blushing brides out there… Mimakos Taverna is definitely the venue that you will never forget!
Regards and with many thanks,
from very proud & happy parents, Tina &...
Read moreI’ve been at Mimakos in April 24 and loved it! The location is amazing, the restaurant is placed on the top of a hill where you can admire the sea and the sunset. The service of the owners, Stephanos and his dad is outstanding! You feel like eating the authentic Greek cuisine in a Greek house! They regularly change the menu but you will always get amazing traditional food and grilled meet. Every Tuesday they have a Greek show with music players and dancers. At the end of it, Stephanos or his dad make the closing of the show with a special fire dance and all the guests can throw the plates on the floor for a good luck Greek tradition. That is a must not to miss. I’ve been there again in June 24 for a wedding and they have been stunning. Every time I’ll go back to Rhodes I will have a dinner at Mimakos. The family also owns Pavo, between Faliraki and Ladiko. This is an amazing place. I suggest to try it as well especially for breakfast...
Read moreWe really enjoyed our time at Mimakos. The whole atmosphere is one of a kind. But a few things make us not give a 5/5 review. The owner (very friendly and welcoming) greeted us personally and allowed us to choose where to sit. But regarding the food choice, we were not given this possibility. He asked us if we liked meat and with this he left and brought us different plates. Unfortunately his choice was not our taste. We got a huge plate of bread which we didn't even touch. Another huge plate with tzatziki which we also didn't touch. Then one enormous bowl of salad and one plate with grilled mushrooms. Until then we were wondering where the meat was. This came later on but in a small platter. No variety at all. And that's it. No french fries, no rice nothing. Other tables got it served, we didn't. And the worst was the price.... It was the most expensive restaurant we ate in our almost 3 week tour of Rhodos.
