We stayed for 2 weeks at Lachania and we ate almost every day here. Chrissy and her family are such a lovely and warm people. But more important: the food is delicious for a reasonable price! We tried every single dish on the menu (and more), but we couldn't tell which dish was the best as all was finger licking good. Everything is made by fresh ingredients and is home made.
Father Georgiou is waving to all passengers and welcomes everybody with his great smile. He is an Orthodox priest and who doesn't fancy a holy meal? He is always in for a small talk when you are waiting for the food to arrive, just like his son Stan.
We would definitly recommend this place. We wish Chrissy and her family all the best, and we hope that Stan will open his own restaurant in the Netherlands one day! 😉

Read moreAfter a full day of sight seeing, we stopped at this village for some drinks and snacks as it was recommended by our travel book. It was a nice taverna run by a old couple. The wife is called Chrissy and the husband is a Orthodox priest. They are very welcoming and friendly. We wanted to have some cold drinks as we arrived at 16:00 🕓 and have some little snacks. The food in the menu card looked good and normal priced. Then the owner „Chrissy“, offered us a plate of different Greek dishes, and we gladly accepted. It was nice, home made food. We enjoyed it, although it was more than just snacks 😝. The couple were very cute and friendly. But we are also sure that the other taverna, opposite to this one is also serving local home made food. Still it’s a good place to go, and we would not say that it was the best place in the whole village. The village itself is pretty small and only these two tavernas and one coffee...
Read moreAmazed by this place!! My partner and I rented a car and went rogue around the mountains until we found somewhere local to eat, and we were not disappointed when the lovely, white bearded man, smiled and waved at us to dine at the restaurant. We sat outside under the grape vines and the whole family were so welcoming and friendly. The menu is small but there is a good selection of homemade Grecian meat, fish and vegetable dishes. We got over excited and ordered the pork in wine sauce, calamari, fish, aubergine, greek salad and tzatziki with pitta bread. We ate the whole lot and it was all delicious! At the end of the meal they gave us fresh watermelon and a shot of Grappa which went down a treat! Highly recommend this place and thank you to the family for being so attentive and giving us an authentic taste...
