We visited Lavraki in May 24. We were very happy with our choice.
The restaurant lies directly on the main coastal boulevard. Please be mindful and use the traffic lights just a few hundred meters down the road to avoid any danger since the road is really frequented especially in the summer or on weekends. But back to the food.
They have great dishes, many of which are quite original and don't stick to a simple fish tavern approach. Both the cerviche and tartar were great. If you feel adventurous try the fish kataifi as well. Yes, you read that right. Fish wrapped in kataifi fyllo. We didn't know what to make of it but with the sweet sour sauce it works quite well. Definitely try the calamari, they were amazing. Same goes for the shrimp risotto.
The staff was very attentive and polite. We sat inside and enjoyed the extra quiet compared to outside and the road. If you're lucky and sit towards the left side, you can have a sea view even from inside.
There's quite the selection for different ouzo bottles. Let the staff guide you depending on what you like since they do taste quite different between them. I think theres like 4 or 5 shelves with assorted bottles. Also, please don't drink ouzo as a shot. It's poured over 2-4 ice cubes in a tall glass. Wait for it to get milky and cool, then enjoy!
Children high chairs were available upon request. That's important to know for other families like us with little kids.
Card payment was also possible. Foreign credit cards work as well. Prices were moderate and cheaper compared to other good food options towards Vouliagmeni or Kavouri. Coming from abroad we thought it was quite economic. For local budgets it might not be super cheap but definitely not overpriced.
We'll definitely be here again when we visit...
Read moreLet me tell you, this is hands down one of the BEST restaurants I’ve ever been to in the south of Greece! And let me be clear – I’m not usually a fish person, but WOW. The food here? Absolutely out of this world! I couldn’t stop eating. We’re talking about the freshest catch, hauled in just three hours before it hits the grill! Every bite is like a taste of the heaven itself.
The salad? Perfection. Packed with fresh, vibrant ingredients that make your taste buds sing. And don’t even get me started on the octopus and calamari – pure heaven on a plate. Then, the fish! Fresh anchovies that will make you think you’ve just tasted the moment paradise meets earth.
And the drinks? Incredible! If you love Tsipouro, this is the spot. Each drink outshines the last, and I couldn’t choose a favorite. And then, the dessert... oh man, homemade gelato made with such special ingredients that I won’t even spoil it for you. You HAVE to experience it for yourself.
To top it all off, our friend Yannis was there, making our experience even more unforgettable. His hospitality took everything to the next level.
If you’re looking for THE place to indulge in insanely fresh, clean, and delicious food while soaking in the atmosphere for a few hours, look no further. This...
Read moreSlightly overrated. I do not really understand the hype about this restaurant. Perhaps we chose the wrong items from the menu....I can only talk about the grilled squid with the recommended (spinach like) salad and the handmade meatballs for kids with fries and the greek salad, but honestly.. nothing special. For me the grilled squid was looking good but tasteless and chewy. I had way better grilled squids and octopus in Sri Lanka/Mauritius/Seychelles in noname local restaurants than here. The recommended salad was also tasteless...perhaps addig some garlic or smth could have made it up. Meatballs were okayish for a child, but also nothing particular in terms of taste. Greek salad: can not go wrong as it is so simple. I was literally craving for some amazing grilled squid, but we left disappointed. At least the service was really nice and welcoming, so 4 stars for that...but food wise we were not...
