Skathari — Restaurant in Municipality of Saronikos

We go to Saronida every year. Last year we were also at Skathari, but we didn't leave a review. Then the steak was delicious, the sea bass ceviche was very strange, as if the chef forgot that the main ingredient of ceviche is lime or lemon. There was not a drop of either. But let's get back to today's visit. We ordered mussels, sea bass, and ribeye. Everything was great!!! The roasting of the meat, the grilled vegetables, the sauce - everything was impeccable! The chef is number one. The service was fine. I would have given 5 stars, if not for one BUT! We were sitting inside the restaurant, behind closed doors and there was a HUGE number of flies. It can't even be described! We simply could not eat in peace. Flies flew into our wine, into our mouths, landed on our food and plates. We had to wave away EVERY SECOND to avoid swallowing several flies. Is the owner of the restaurant not familiar with ways to deal with this problem? I repeat, there were sooo many flies. Nice restaurant in Saronida Friday night a lot of people.Good service and happy waiters. The super food salad,and the mushroom appetisers was very good The main course( pineapple sweet & sour with shrimps & the pineapple sweet and sour with chicken !was not sweet& sour! But with a lot of salty soy sauce.It looks so nice but it was disappointing .With the high price 16€ for the 4 shrimps dish and the 14€ for the chicken you expect to be better!The carafe rose Demi- sec very nice! ...........................................................Updating this review December 2023.. My choice to choose tonight. Delightful food with modern twists. We had the Sea Bass Ceviche, Green Salad and Breaded Prawns with sweet chilli sauce. Sounds simple but it was anything but!! The ceviche sauces and salad dressing were excellent. We had just arrived after a 5 hour drive in heavy rain from Lefkarda (Nydri) and walked into town around 5:00am to stretch our legs. Decided an early dinner was a good idea, so no waiting for a table. The food is very good and wide variety to suit many. I would suggest booking as I suspect it will be popular to the descerning. We will go again to try Skathari Salad that caught our eye. My wife will probably do the Ceviche again. I also had the Half Baked Tart with Madagascar Vanilla Ice Cream.
