We came to this restaurant after a recommendation from a local, but we left unimpressed. The first dishes were quite promising as the local cheese with honeycomb and the tarama were delicious. However, for the price you pay, when the menu says it’s served with flatbread, you expect that, and not a store‑bought pita.
The next dishes were a mixed bag: the Mastelo saganaki was okay, and the calamari with fava was a great combination, although the mustard sauce felt unnecessary. The main courses also let us down, the rooster pasta was overcooked, and the goat was dry.
To top it off, at the start of the evening a waiter was telling someone he hadn’t expected to be busy and he made plans to go out for drinks, and at the end of the night the owner(?) was joking with a nearby table (probably friends) that it was late and she would be kicking them out soon. Even if meant as a joke, it doesn’t come across as very polite, it really made us feel unwelcome and rushed.
I think a bit more training in hospitality would really help as Serifos is a great island and politeness goes a...

Seriani Restobar is basically the Greek island vacation I can’t afford but somehow managed to eat. The sea bass fillet came out so tender it practically slid into my DMs, swimming in a sauce so flavorful I briefly considered bottling it as cologne. My date caught me sniffing the plate—it was THAT good.
And then there was the moussaka. Forget everything you know about heavy, brick-like moussaka that leaves you in a food coma. This one was rocking a béchamel topping so light and fluffy, I swear it could have been used to patch a cloud. If angels baked lasagna, this would be it.
The only downside? I may never look at “regular” Greek food again without sighing dramatically. Somebody check my passport—I think I just immigrated via fork.
10/10, would risk my cholesterol again...
Read moreWe found Seriani quite underwhelming. The setting is nice, right off the town square with nice lighting. But the service is incredibly slow and the food is not particularly showstopping. We had the house red wine to drink, which we enjoyed a lot. It was slightly chilled which we liked. For food, we started with the cheese croquettes with marmelade, which we didn't like as these had an aftertaste of cleaning products or something like that. We alsl had the beetroot salad, which wasn't bad but really didn't taste of anything other than beetroot. We also tried the spicy feta cream, which again was very one dimensional. Finally, we had the beef patty with chips and yoghurt dip which was also very forgettable. I wouldn't return, and I...
