Taverna Apostolos — Restaurant in Municipality of Sithonia

Very nice experience. Taverna has a nice beach view, it's usually very quiet and peaceful, and it's perfect for romantic lunch/dinner break. We tried moussaka and sea food pasta and they were both great. The road to it, on the other hand, is not so good and you should be very careful going down to the beach. The only negative I have about the taverna is that they charged us a bottle of water even though we didn't ask for it (I thought it was on the house) and bread which we didn't need and didn't ask for. On the positive side, they also gave us some lemon flavored dessert for free afterwards.

Would definitely recommend visiting the taverna...

We spent the afternoon here. We had drinks and snacks while the kids swam in the ocean. The tzaziki was the best. The waiter was so nice. We came right after the bad storm and they had just gotten back electricity but the only thing we could not get was a cold beer in tap. We ordered the local white wine and were very happy. First of all, half of the things on the menu are not actually available. Second of all, there is no flexibility whatsoever. I asked if they could just make me a simple risotto with cheese or vegetables or anything since there were plenty of other more complicated risotto dishes on the menu. No. As a vegetarian all I could have for lunch was a piece of cheese. 🙁 Makes me wonder if they actually have real chefs in the kitchen making the food? What kind of chef can’t make a simple cheese...
