We went to this place tricked by the most recent reviews which were positive and we expected a typical Greek style taverna and delicious food. We are spending our summer vacations for more than 15 years on different locations in Greece and this is probably the most disappointing and weird experience. We went at around 20 pm to the place in the highest season during August. There were 2 other tables occupied when we arrived. We are a family of 5 - 2 adults and 3 children. We were not greeted by anyone, although there was a person who was at the bar. We were given several times weird looks by the waiter and because of this we asked whether we can sit and whether they served any food at all. He said yes and handed us the menus. It took a lot of waiting but when he came back it turned out nothing we picked from the menus was available - there was no seafood at all, he made us feel awkward as if we didn’t know what to order but in fact more than half the menu was unavailable and he didn’t inform us in advance and didn’t offer or recommend anything and was just looking blankly at us. We ordered drinks, he forgot the water and when finally we managed to order some food again we didn’t get everything we ordered because it was finished. The explanation after that was that it was a Sunday and everything was finished. And why is the place open in this case and why does it state a restaurant if there is nothing to eat. At the end they made us pay in cash although they said it was possible to pay by card but again with the weird look and further comment that maybe there will be no connection. Not to mention the price was too high for what you get on meals - very small portion and no real quality at all. I don’t want to mention all the details but I really think this place might be soon closing - still anyone who will go there for anything more than a drink should be prepared to be disappointed. Plori restaurant - you are really giving a bad taste of Corfu. Of course we could have left already from the start but we drove 20 mins to the place because it is rather secluded and also we didn’t expect such a disappointment. I leave one star only because of the view - it is as described but...
Read moreDined here many years ago and the service was unfriendly and inadequate and the prices very high for the quality of food provided, but given the time passed, we thought we would give it another go. We really wish we had not. I became unwell during eating my meal and my husband and young daughter took me back to our accomodation. There is a very nice waiter here who, as Greek hospitality is known for, is friendly and helpful - his young son is also. My husband let the waiter know we were leaving but he and and my daughter would return in a short while. Upon returning, our table which had been left with our drinks and olives etc had been given to other customers. Fair enough. However, when my husband asked to be re-seated with my young daughter, the owner refused and said that we were not eating and the tables were for diners(the people whom now were seated at the table we had sat at - WERE NOT AND DID NOT EAT.) The owner was clearly aware we HAD eaten and had paid our bill in full. He was obnoxious, arrogant and nasty. My daughter was confused and upset. Treating a family like this is unacceptable. Perhaps the owner is not Greek. The other waiter tried to organise us a table but it was clear the owner felt aggrieved by myself becoming ill, my husband looking after me and then returning to his restaurant to attempt to make it an enjoyable evening. By the way it was my husband's birthday. We were overcharged significantly for the bill but my husband let it go as my daughter had received enough upset from the restaurant owner already. NEVER before have we been treated in this way. I saw a cockroach here the previous time we were here and this time I saw a rat/rodent by the toilet area. This was horrible. Everywhere in Corfu is welcoming and professional. However, the Plori is not and the owner has a serious...
Read moreYou've got to put my five stars into context. This is a wonderfully Greek taverna on the seashore of a very picturesque coastline. The food was typically Greek; wonderful salads, giant beans and a real real good homemade no, mother made burger with feta. It was superb, my sincere thanks to Mum, whoever she may be.
When we were there they were working hard building very pretty areas, yet stopped to serve us and make us truly welcome.
So, the place is lovely and deserves your custom. Go with an open mind and wanting to enjoy great Greek food and good prices in a perfect spot.
We were embarrassed to find out that they didn't take cards but they were happy for us to go to the ATM in the next village and come back.
These are good people, providing brilliant memories, let's try and support them. You...
