We were a bit unsure about coming here at first after reading some of the reviews, but honestly, some of them are just way over the top. This place is lovely!
It’s quiet, chilled, and really good value. We paid €15 for two beds, an umbrella, and a little table with cup holders – can’t complain at all. The beach is clean, the sea is amazing, and it’s just a great spot to relax and switch off.
The drinks were brilliant – honestly better than most places we’ve been on the island – and the food was spot on too. We had a toastie and a club sandwich. We were after the chicken club but the delivery hadn’t come in yet – no big deal, these things happen.
Staff were friendly and served us right at our beds which was a nice touch. We came on a Monday and it was about half full, which was perfect for us. Music was just right too – not loud or annoying, just added to the laid-back vibe.
We’ve been all over the island, and this place stands out. As English visitors, we were treated really well – so not sure what that one silly comment was on about. Definitely nothing but good vibes from the staff.
We’d 100% come back – left feeling totally...
Read moreLovely setting shame about everything else. We first had drinks and then brought 3 sunbeds and headed down for a few hours to sunbathe. When we came to get lunch the woman rudely told us she had nothing and could only do cheese or ham toast. The other customers sitting in the bar area were being served exactly what we’d tried to order. It took 45 minutes for 3 cheese toasties to be made they didn’t put them on plates like everyone else’s and weren’t served with crisps either. When I asked for crisps she said sorry they’ve only just been delivered and put about 10 crisps in a paper bag. We’d been there 5 hours at this point and had seen everyone served crisps and the full menu but for some reason she felt the need to lie to us. I noticed other English people being told there was nothing else other than toast and being given paper bags with cold ‘toasties’. After 45 minutes we finally got out order in paper bags freezing cold and probably the worst toastie I’ve ever had and I’m not even sure how you can get a cheese toastie wrong. It was very cheap but I’d happily pay more to get...
Read moreWe had found this beach by chance on the internet and weren’t entirely sure what to expect, but thankfully we decided to trust it. The place is enchanting, with the lake behind it and sand dunes that turn into a stunning beach, Tayo feels like an oasis in the desert. The staff is welcoming and attentive to your needs. For €15, you get a sun umbrella with a small wastebasket and two loungers, and you can choose your spot based on availability; we arrived at opening time and got a front-row umbrella. The beach facility has a shower, and when I used it, the water was warm thanks to the sun heating the exposed pipes. I recommend the smoothies, which are excellent, and the sandwiches are also good, perfect for a beach day. There was music playing in the background all day, but at a low volume so it stayed in the background and didn’t interfere with conversation. The water is shallow, generally cold, and despite the sandy bottom, incredibly clear and crystalline, I couldn’t stop marveling at how transparent it was. If you’re unsure or just stumbled upon this place by chance,...
