Family owned Taverna. As a Greek from abroad, these are the restaurants I search out. The authentic tastes, warm and loving atmosphere. Just as if I were eating at my Aunt’s house. The best food, with quality ingredients. My wife and I were very pleased. For starters, we grabbed the spicy feta dip, tyrokafteri, the village salad, horiatiki, and some fresh cut French fries. The dip was creamy, with a hint of spicyness, and you could tell quality feta was used. The village salad was a 10/10, beautiful fresh veggies, their colours vibrant, dressed with Greek olive oil and a dash of vinegar. Topped with a generous piece of oregano sprinkled feta, I was dunking the bread in the juice after, trying to lap up the remaining flavour! French fries were freshly cut and cooked to perfection. If you aren’t making your fries fresh from scratch like that, you’re doing it wrong. Entrees were next level too. I’ve had my share of pork souvlakia, believe me, and I can honestly say these were some of the best I’ve had in my life! Perfectly cooked, succulent taste, perfect fat to meat ratio. This is what pork souvlakia are about! My wife had a daily special, “momma’s moussaka”. Dare I say better than my aunt’s! Everything in that dish melded together, the béchamel sauce, the tasty ground beef, the eggplant and potato. They come together to form something better than lasagna or pastitsio. Our server/owner was very welcoming and kind, he put at us ease and was very easy to relate to. At the end of our meal, he gave us a digestif, on the house, the sign of a true Greek Taverna. I would give this place six out of five stars if I could.

Read moreThis is the best authentic Greek restaurant we visited - not just in Santorini, but during our entire trip to Greece. Trust us we have visited a lot of high review places. It’s located outside the touristy areas where the locals live and has been in operation for 10 years, which already speaks to the quality and authenticity of the food.
Everything we ordered was excellent. My personal favorites were the tzatziki, spicy feta cheese, Tigania (a flavorful pork dish—definitely a must-try), and Bekri-meze (another flavorful pork dish, very different from Tigania but equally good). I’m drooling just writing this.
Go give it a try, you’ll leave Santorini knowing you’ve had some of the most authentic and delicious Greek food.
We found free parking on the hill near the restaurant - just follow the parking signs. The owner was also incredibly attentive and friendly. He made sure our needs were met without being overbearing, unlike some other places we visited. Many of the recipes were passed down from his grandmother, and you could tell how proud he was to share them with us. The food was truly delicious. The food was so good that we kept going back. It was a no brainer for us to choose it as our last meal in Greece. The perfect food truly marked the perfect end...
Read moreWhere to start, there are so many good things to talk about this restaurant. First off you are greeted by the most amazing man who cares so much about his family's restaurant and it shows in every inch of your meal. We ate here 3 different times in 3 days. Best time to be here is after 8 on the weekend when the kids are playing in the square and the families are all eating dinner around you. But any time you can make it is well worth the trip.
Now onto the food recommendations. Everything you get here is clearly made with love and you cannot go wrong. But here are our must haves. First off you cannot skip the Local Santorini Tomato Fritters, they are the best item on the menu hands down. Second off you must get the crispy feta with tomato jam it is to die for. Next must is you have to choose a dip that sounds interesting and fun for you, you can't go wrong! Lastly choose a protein to split with your spouse. Wash it all down with a house wine and make sure to finish your meal off with the Family Dessert...
