The service was terribly slow and awfully rude. It seemed like the waiting staff did not want to acknowledge us and they were looking at their phones whilst we were waiting to receive service, despite having indicated that we wanted to eat lunch. Once we had been acknowledged, we were brought the menu so that we could place our order. From here, we had to wait for 30 minutes including several indications towards the waiting staff that we were ready. Overall, we felt very ignored. This was despite being one of the only 3 tables that were occupied; it was still very quiet. After finally placing our order, we were brought our plates and they were practically slammed down onto the table. We have no clue how we have offended the waiting staff so much that they would resort to this, as we felt we had been very patient with the wait and continued to be nice towards the staff and thanking them. We had ordered the steamed mussels, stewed octopus, a Greek salad, and a bottle of white wine. The kitchen staff, unlike the waiting staff, were quick to make our orders and prepared good quality food that was beautifully presented. This to some extent saved our experience here. One of the kitchen staff, Kostas, also prepared us a beautiful and delicious dessert that was the highlight of our lunch. Big shoutout to him! At the end of our lunch whilst paying the bill, the waitress had the cheek to ask us if we would like to leave a tip after the service we had received; she hadn’t even bothered to ask how our lunch or our service was. All and all, we had a good lunch in terms of food with all due compliments to the kitchen staff, but the service from the waiting staff had greatly muddled...
Read moreWe had a reservation for 2 sunbeds. When we arrived there we were told that we had missed our reservation by 10 minutes. We asked whether we could be accomodated on a walk in basis since half of the sunbeds were empty and they claimed that they would not be taking any more reservations for the remaining of the day. We were told that this was not an option (when I asked whether they planned on keeping half of the sunbeds empty, which was a fair assumption, they claimed that there were people in the waiting area, however nobody was waiting at the time). After a lot of back and forth they offered to seat us in the cabana area which could accomodate up to 7 people and for that reason was far more expensive. It is unclear to us whether their intention was to gain the exta money from the beginning, but the whole experience was unacceptable and we ended up leaving. We have been to beach bars all around the world and this is the first time that we have encountered something like that in a place that is supposedly reputable and was recommended by our hotel. Pictures showing some of the empty sunbeds and the empty waiting area are attached...
Read moreThe location of Bianco is truly beautiful – set in a quiet little bay, with a well-designed beach club. Both the bar and restaurant are nicely maintained, and the sunbeds are comfortable and stylish. The overall setting is exactly what you’d hope for on a relaxing day by the sea.
Unfortunately, the guest experience is let down by the way customer management is handled. If you are not Greek, even arriving just five minutes late can mean that your reserved sunbed is given away. On the other hand, local guests are treated with much more flexibility, sometimes being allowed to arrive hours late with their beds still held for them. When we questioned the staff, we were told things like “there was traffic” (which simply doesn’t exist on an island like Tinos) or “there was a problem with the reservation,” even though half of the sunbeds remained empty.
If Bianco truly wants to establish itself as a high-quality, international-level beach destination, a major improvement in hospitality and fairness in guest...
