Tavern Shepherdess — Restaurant in Municipality of Vari - Voula - Vouliagmeni

A greek friend of mine recommended this place to me, the staff are very kind, very fast, and helpful. The tzatziki is the best one I have had so far, they bring it with garlic bread to compliment the tastes. You can taste the great quality of their meat and you can also see them cooking in action. Might be a bit far from the city center, but definitely a gem away from the city.

Off the beaten path, but so worth it! We asked our tour driver to take us to where the locals go to eat lamb on the spit, and this is where he took us. We wanted to eat traditional food and were there for the off season and right when the restaurant opened. We had it all to ourselves. It was my group's first-time eating pita bread with tzatziki sauce, and it was amazing! Great taverna food, but don’t go on the weekend. Like most of the restaurants in this area (and it really is a unique area, with grill-houses nestled among garages & workshops) the focus is meat, and this restaurant does grilled food very well. The sides are also nice (perhaps a little too heavy) but the service is haphazard. Given that we visited on the weekend when the place was at its busiest, we expected some buzz – and that’s usually fine – but while the majority of the staff were friendly, our principal waiter was rude.
