Arrived at the wharf downtown from our boat and were hungry for some local cuisine around 6pm……nothing seemed to be going on, was very quiet and walked into a few waterfront eateries but left unimpressed with the offerings. We felt we had made a bad decision to come ashore as my friend is also an executive chef lolol! I pulled out Google maps and searched for an authentic Greek restaurant…….as soon as I saw the name Taverna Tsolias it spoke to me, noticed the large amount of reviews and we hailed an Uber, both excited. We arrived and were the only ones there, a bit nervous but impressed, and were ushered to the upstairs section of the Taverna. We sat and were impressed with the size and cleanliness, as well as the atmosphere of the place. I took one look at the simple but elegant menu and knew right away we were I for a real treat. My friend the chef had never eaten authentic Greek so we splurged on the Greek salad, baked Feta, zucchini, pita, steak followed by yoghurt with honey, fresh melon and watermelon and compliments of the owner some sour cherry sauce !!! What can I say but it was all fantastic and in no time the place was buzzing with people of all persuasions and the atmosphere was warm and electric.

It was the most authentic and tasty Greek food I have ever had, don’t hesitate to make the trip out of town a little to try...

My Brother Sam and I Vincenzo with our respective wives went to Tsolias Tavern because we wanted to eat a couple of different dishes of lamb. Ours was the best experience we ever had. We had a Greek salad and a special house salad we started with a dish of pork on the spit then we had baby lamb on the spit and to continue we devoured a large portion of extremely tasty and delicious lamb chaps that were out of this world. Among other delicacies we had a chance to meet John the owner and his family who treated us like royalty we also had a chance to meet the cook and his staff. They were very accommodating, professional and completely at our service and at the service of all patrons frequenting the restaurant. I couldn’t recommend this restaurant more it’s definitely the best in town when it comes to meat dishes. The meats are fresh delicious and tender like butter. The service was exceptional—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. As for the food, it was simply divine. The grilled meats were cooked to perfection, tender, and full of flavour.
