We had made a reservation for a table for four persons for Wednesday night dinner in August 2019. It was quiet and there were few tourists.
We had ordered 5 drinks, 1 starter, 1 salad, 2 types of sushi, 4 main dishes and a bottle of wine. The bill came up to 412 euro. No one wanted to check the bill but I did. They had charged us, in addition, one main course at 44 euro and one coca cola at 6 euro that none of us had ordered. Add it up….yes, 50 Euro more! When we told the waitress of the overcharge, she just took the bill without saying anything and came back with the correction with an angry look on her face. She never apologized for the surcharge. When it came time to pay, using two different credit cards, we asked if we could add a tip to the card, she said yes: 10%, 15% or 20%. We asked whether we could add the amount we wanted to the card and she answered NO!! So my response was alright, we will leave it in cash.
She was not happy and the expression on her face showed that she was extremely annoyed. She took the POS and left our table without saying a word, not even a word out of courtesy or an apology. There was no inkling of proper customer service for an overly priced restaurant like this.
The only thing that is worth seeing is the view and the sea and that is all! An extremely disappointing dining experience considering we specifically chose The Island for our outing.
Lesson learned: always check your bill and if you do pay in cash ask for the cash register receipt.
Our advice: Customer service is of the utmost importance if one wishes to keep one’s...

Read moreMy friends and I went for the meduza event on Saturday night. We were excited because we never go to venues/clubs that are on the expensive side, and the island is presented as a "high class" venue. Even though we purchased our tickets beforehand, there was a wait . It took us 1,5 hours to get into the venue, the guy at the front took forever with each person just to put on a bracelet, while he was doing other things simultaneously and he was constantly leaving for some reason, even though there were 100 people waiting in line. No one scanned our tickets. He glanced at mine and said I was good and he didn't even check my friend's ticket. Best part, there were constantly people cutting in line, and it was obvious that the actual line was at the left and the people that were cutting through were at the right. Well, the guy at the front only checked the people at the right. Of course, there were constantly people that just went through, I guess cause of status or something which was annoying too. When we managed to get inside, it was obvious that they had oversell tickets, you couldn't walk, it was suffocating and dangerous. There was no way you could have fun unless you were in the vip area. Lastly, the venue was full of wanna be rich 16-year-olds with a bad attitude . To sum up, the venue only seems like high class, all other aspects are pretty bad. Not worth the money or the wait. They can't handle a simple event , the organisation was awful, as was the staff . Only good...
