A nice scenic spot where you can also visit the fish market ... and buy fresh fish directly from the fishermen themselves. There are normally also a few persons also selling seasonal veggies ... but I've never bought from them so I cant comment! Varkiza harbour provides an excellent place for either walking, family promenades, enjoying the sea or cafes, ice cream shops & restaurants located along it. Romantic couples will love it as it offers magical views during summertime nights. There is also a playground for families with children. Occasionally, there are many events organised here like music & religious festivals & theatrical plays which are in harmony with the natural landscape and further display the mediterranean character...

The beach is quite satisfactory, boasting convenient parking in its vicinity. Our visit fell on a weekday, which may explain the absence of any parking difficulties. The water is remarkably clean, yet it's regrettable that the shore is strewn with stones rather than sand, making it uncomfortable to walk on.
