This place was recommended by the owner of our holiday villa and it did not disappoint!!!! Totally authentic, the staff were delightful and the lamb (the only thing on the menu on a Sunday I believe) which was cooked across the road, spit roasted on an open fire and carried across to the kitchens to be carved was probably the best lamb I have ever tasted. We sat outside. Barely any tables left and we arrived at 1230. Huge tree in the centre of the outside dining terrace that provided welcome shade. Stairs to the terrace are quite steep. All the food came up there from the kitchen that was at street level. Staff ran their legs off going up and down with everything. Parking was slightly haphazard so you basically parked where you could. We assumed that every car there was owned by someone eating in the restaurant, so if you had blocked someone in they would just come and get you!! Mostly local people eating there I think. The local priest was there with one group. A truly memorable, relaxing feast of a Sunday lunch. Would definitely visit again if in the area....

The owner is a shepherd so the quality of the meat (lam/goat) and of the cheese is at the top level. The old recipe, that you will very rarely find, of the lam in wine leaves, is exquisite, a dream!!! It is true that because they have a solid reputation in the area, when there is 300 people, you will probably wait that is why I recommend you to avoid week ends if you can, and then you will be like a king in a private restaurant. The terrasse is very nice and at night you will eat with the pink of the sunset reflecting on the mountains. Ready for...
Read moreWe came with my wife in Taverna Omalos, a restaurant in a small village. It specializes in grill, Mediterranean, barbecue, and Greek cuisine. It has received many positive reviews from friends who praised its food, service, value, and atmosphere. Some of the dishes that were recommended by our friends include the lamb ribs, the bean salad, the local herb salad, and the tzatziki. Of course we tasted and is simply amazing. The restaurant is situated in a beautiful valley with views of the mountains. The owner, George, are very hospitable and friendly, and they use fresh products from their own farm. Highly...
