Wow!! Just WOOW!! Let me start with this:
What an incredibly authentic gem in Mani's heartland..!!
This is a traditional tavern, easy to miss. It reminded us the good'ol days of golden purity, back when things were real and made for humans.
We order most of the menu and EVERY single item was prepared well, was delicious and generously portioned. The ingredients are local, fresh with life and full of flavour.
This is an IDEAL place to experience Greek folk cuisine to its brightest colours. Distinction goes to some of the most jaw-dropping and mouth-watering pieces of Lamb Chops I have ever tasted. Be sure to try the Hortiatiki salad, the fried zucchini bites and an assortment of all suggested dishes.
Parking is easy, the view is majestic, the place feels warm and welcoming, with fire stoves during cold months and the prices are fair (cheap for what's offered).
The place is run by a lovely family that makes you feel at home. They are truly polite, honest, caring and attentive to each table's needs.
I had the chance to check their preparations and kitchen, and boy was I shocked by how clean everything was. This is a 20yo~ tavern and it's quite an achievement to maintain this level of cleanliness all while keeping the equipment functional.
Overall, one of the best places in the country for an authentic Greek experience. We loved it with our all.
10/10, will go back again and totally...

That day, I started on a very challenging sectiom, riding on a winding road from Kalamata. I got to the villajge and saw a beautiful, thousands year-old Byzanthine church oppodite the tavern. The owner of the tavern, who did not speak English, pointed out the highlights, not only of that church, but one next to it.
"Goog heart" is the English translation of the nsme of the place. I saw the charcoal grill glowing, the amazing churches opposite, the friendly owner - even though I planned to ride on, I decided to stay.
I was in for a surprise. There were stairs leading to a terrace, with amazing views of the setting sun over the sea. I oedered lamb chops, Greek salad, saganaki and a glass of wibe wine - it was simply perfect! I finished everything to the kast crumb.
To top off the amazing experience, the owner allowed me to pitch my tent opposite the tavern, right next to the church. I had a great night, feeling the "good hear" beating.
Efaristo, much...
Read moreI have been eating here for years and looking forward to my next visit. This is a warm, friendly, family run business, which lives up to its name of "The Good Heart". It's delightful whatever season you visit. In the summer there is the back terrace with it's wonderful view or tables by the roadside, and in the winter the cosy dining room with the wood burner stove keeping us all warm. The food also varies with the seasons, so you can never tire of the fresh produce, beautifully cooked, and with ample portions. You will be well looked after by the...
