Ano Mera Kitries — Restaurant in Municipality of West Mani

After reading the great reviews, we decided to give this place a try.

The view was unique and especially nice around sunset.

The salad with fig and walnuts was an inspired creation. We also had the stuffed vegetables and the moussaka. These main plates were quite good, but it’s hard to say if it either of them was any better than what we’ve had at local tavernas for a lot less money.

What spoiled the dinner for us, was the arrival of the main dishes less than 5 minutes after our salad. It meant that we both had our main plates cold, because we wanted to first finish our shared salad.

What turned out to be by far and away our most expensive dinner in Greece, lasted less than 30 minutes from arrival to departure. We would definitely not repeat this...

This place is absolutely incredible! From the moment we walked in, we were blown away. The atmosphere was perfect—warm, inviting, and with a lovely buzz of conversation. Our server-lady was fantastic; she was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and made the best recommendations.

Now, for the food. We ordered the "giouvetsi" and it was flawless. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and every bite was a delight. The presentation was like a work of art. This was more than just a meal; it was a truly unforgettable dining experience. We can't wait to come...

Also wir sind jetzt schon seit einer Woche in Kalamata und haben jeden Tag 1- 2 mal die regionalen Restaurants abgeklappert.

Die Bewertungen waren viel versprechend! Wir kommen an berg Rauf erstmal wasser 2 Flaschen extrem trockenes Brot und 5 Oliven bekommen.

Danach haben wir bestellt Mussaka Lamm und Kleinigkeiten. Getränke waren auch schnell da also der Service stimmte schon mal sehr nette 2 junge Männer .

Lokal wirbt mit Ofen Gerichten aus dem Holzofen frisch zubereitet.

So jetzt leider die Enttäuschung. Mussaka aus der mikrowelle oder schlecht aufgewärmt und nicht frisch für 12€. Lamm war mal im Ofen aber nicht frisch total trocken und überhaupt nicht heiss auch sehr kleine Portion in der Mitte kalt. Also wahrscheinlich auch nur in der mikrowelle kurz warm gemacht für 15 € .

Ok dann haben wir die Rechnung bekommen einfach nur ein Witz!!!

Brot ,Oliven und das Wasser wurde in rechnung gestellt für 10 €.

Haben also bezahlt und sind gegangen hier kommen wir nicht wieder hat wenig mit traditionelles Essen zu tun fahrt lieber direkt woanders hin hab noch nie in Griechenland so schlecht gegessen sorry einfach...
