Kerkis — Restaurant in Municipality of Western Samos

If you want to experience the truly local food - the food that people of the island actually make at home and eat every day - with no touristy pretense, this is your place. I went to Kerkis twice for lunch and had a perfectly cooked fish, a delicious beef stew, some nice local lentils, and Greek salads with plenty of feta. The atmosphere is all I needed from a genuine Samos eatery: beauriful hilltop view through the wide open windows with fresh air. Even better, it's a hangout of the town's working people, not tourists. The food reminded me of what my own grandparents would cook for me: hearty, generous, honest. And with zero performative nonsense for ripping off tourists. This place is the opposite of the typical tourist traps that abound on the nearby streets and at the port. The nicest home cooked meals I have ever had! 😋 This place, you will only find the locals who come for a beer, ouzo, Greek coffee ☕️. We have eaten here more than 12 times, have never been disappointed, and is so so cheap!!!! Yianni is a fantastic host and chef! It's by no means a 5 star restaurant in appearance, BUT you're not there to look at the place , you're there to eat FANTASTIC HOME MADE REAL GREEK FOOD! What are you waiting...

Une des rares adresses ouvertes tous les jours et toute l'année ! Après nos longues randos nous avons trouvé ici bonne chère et réconfort. Cuisine locale et surtout bon marché, arrosée d'un bon retsina, que demander de plus. Cette taverne est ouverte tout le temps parce qu'elle fait office de kafeneion, donc centre de la vie sociale de tout le quartier, où les locaux viennent manger, boire un coup et discuter: tout le charme de la Grèce authentique.
