Fish Tavern Babis — Restaurant in Nestos Municipality

My family and I have been visiting Keramoti for the last 45 years and we have been dining at Babis tavern every summer. My sister had her engagement party there and two baptisms. His food use to be top notch and so was the service . This summer, my family was looking forward to dining at his restaurant again, and we were treated poorly. The food quality was definitely not the same. His prices were elevated and the service was horrendous. they wouldn’t come to the table for us to place our order. They forget to bring cutlery and they wouldn’t come for drinks. We had to get up and request all of the above. After our first evening of dining there, we thought we would give it another chance and we went a second night. The second night was worse than the first there was 12 of us and they forgot to bring three of our meals. When we informed them of this, they became quite argumentative and were basically saying that we didn’t place our order and tried to blame us for their error. When we told the owner who we know very well his response was oh well they forgot. We are of Greek background but live outside of Greece. It appears that they preferred to cater to only one type of tourist and not people from different parts of the world. This place definitely doesn't deserve his former glory when the owners were involved directly in the dayly business. Probably the poorest quality/quantity/service ratio in the whole North Greece. The staff is young quite unskilled and quite ready to argue with you, if you dare to ask them many times when my son is going to receive his chicken souvlaki - by the way 3 hours almost passed by, when it was ordered. Please do never order the veal stake - it full of tiny small cracked bones and you may highly probably loss a tooth or injure your jaw. The portion of fried potatoes contains only a limited number of potato slice s, what results in the bill as 6 euros?!? After I managed to find the owner and told him about our adventure with his stuff he pretended with a big smile to take care of it - finally we received the chicken souvlaki and avoided the starvation of my son and as compensation a 250 ml Coca-Cola bottle. You wont receive here a receipt, but something written by hand, for which you need to have some decrypting skills for minimum understanding. Babis is so overrated and it is said to be the most expensive restaurant in Keramoti. We went there on a Saturday. There aren't enough waiters and you have to beg them to clear the table, bring the bill and properly understand the order. I still don't know how it's possible for a chef to screw up the Pasta Carbonara recipe. Worst pasta I've ever had, canteen style. Fried mussels were ok, good portion, but a bit greasy. As for the fish... You can have much better fish at a taverna close by, called Sta, and for a lesser price. Babis was 70 euros per kilo/ 22 per fillet of tsipura, other taverna, whole tsipura was 12 fresh, huge fish... So disappointing.
