Elea Restaurant | Beach Bar — Restaurant in Paggaio Municipality

Don’t make our mistake to go there. DON’T GO THERE!!! Everything was terrible, a truly awful experience. There are a lot better restaurants in the proximity. Go elsewhere.

The place was looking alright and the staff sat us at a table. They told us there might be a slight delay in service due to the kitchen being busier than usual. And the restaurant wasn’t even full. We expected this “slight delay” to be like 15-20 mins tops.

The waitress from Bulgaria (we are Bulgarians as well) gave us the menu after 30 mins and after us specifically asking for it twice. We were going to go to another place at this point, but it was already peak time and everything was full.

We ordered finally, but the food came after ONE BLOODY HOUR. The bill came without us asking for it and it came way before the food did.

The food wasn’t that awful but the portions were way too small for the money we paid for them.

We went to pay at the end. They even told us they can’t bring the card terminal to the table and needed to go inside the restaurant. Obviously, they didn’t...

The food was pretty nice (although my dad found the tuna salad to be so bad he couldn’t even finish it) and the waitress that took our order was very pleasant, but one thing left us shocked and ruined the experience. At the end, when we took a look at the bill, we noticed that there were two items we didn’t order, amounting to 6€. We asked, and the waiter told us that there’s been a mistake, and it should be 4€ instead of 6€ — for the bread and water (that were given to us before we even ordered any food). He added that if we didn’t want the bread, we should’ve said so, and it would’ve gotten taken away… I found that to be extremely weird, especially given the greek hospitality we’ve experienced so far — in every restaurant we went to for a whole week bread and water were always free, and most places even brought you a free...

We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The food was delicious, everything was well prepared, and the service was excellent. We were served quickly, received the menu in Bulgarian, and the staff kindly spoke to us in Bulgarian as well, which made us feel very welcome. Everything was tasty and well organized, and at the end we were even treated to a small complimentary surprise. Special compliments to Christos – thank you for making our evening so enjoyable!
