Short story: DO NOT GO HERE! Drive to places like Paralia Livadi or Petra Beach for example. They are much, much better and also have a place for food closeby! Read the reactions of these guys to negative reviews. It appears it is never THEIR fault. No self reflection. Always a bad sign for a company.
Long story: We were happily welcomed by a waiter on the street, handshakes and all, to tell us we could take a sunbed on the beach. Since this is what we were after we thought this was fine. The waiter mentioned we could get some water, order some drinks, maybe later have a table for some traditional Greek food etc. which we neither accepted nor declined. He appointed us some beds and we got comfortable. We got water and some coffees. An hour or two later he suddenly showed up to our beds telling us our table was ready and left quickly again. This suprised us since we hadn't ordered any table. I can imagine some people feel pushed into going for lunch at that point. We didn't.
After that the beach was more or less full. All beds occupied. We saw waiters moving around carrying drinks. Nobody really came to check on us. When we wanted to order 2 cans of Cola zero we were trying to get a hold of a waiter for 20 minutes. When finally one appeared to take an order to some beds in front of us we asked him for Cola zero, to which he replied "but I'm not a waiter." Confused we asked him to call a waiter then. 10 minutes later a waiter visited us super briefly and left one Cola zero in stead of two. Before we could say anything he was gone.
We also saw tourists pay 15 euro's for a bed while others payed 20 euro's.
To us it feels like as soon as all the beds are full this place could care less about waitering you. It starts off with smiles and handshakes but when you show no interest in their pushy lunch table they stop caring.
The beach is nice, but that's it. We were thinking about having dinner at this place but skipped this because of our experiences during the rest of the day.
Edit: when paying we asked to pay with a card (this is what we saw a customer in front of us do). The waiter told us this is not possible since the Internet reception is bad. So we payed in cash, no receipt. Doesn't take a genious to figure that one out... He did ask us whether we were staying for dinner.
I think not.
Edit: Down below we see the standard of these people. We NEVER agreed on a table! The fact that the restaurant setup a table was a surprise for us. If I don't expect that... why would I tell a waitor not to prepare a table?
And as for the payment... lets just say it wouldn't be the first place to try and get a little bit more out of it by having customers pay with cash (no receipt). It all feels too convenient, that at the moment when we don't have lunch (and therefor there is no income from that) the Internet decides to act up. Now I'm no IT guy but I had a perfectly fine 5g signal there. WiFi hotspot...
Read moreI visited this beach establishment in the Kampos area of Patmos, where an employee misled us with vague information about fees to attract tourists. They implied sunbeds were free with food and drink orders but charged 30-40% more than expected at payment. Instead of saying sorry for the lie OR misleading information, he super immodestly and separately told us " ok, if this amount of money will be too much for you,..."(meaning pay what you are supposed to pay)!, as if he did a favor to us....Unbelievable and totally unacceptable. That employee was rude, disrespectful, and refused to serve properly, leading to inconsistent charges for the same meal between customers.
Shockingly, this employee told a German tourist it wasn't their job to come to the beach area, despite being paid to do so. Another server apologized for his behavior and he said, they are well aware of there is something wrong about him.
This rude employee clearly lacks the training and attitude needed for proper customer service. I never seen such behavior, which I never tolerate and forgive, in my entire life and I given him negative feedback in person, too. To me, the place is overrated and below average. The sea is average, and accordingly, I wouldn’t return.
I will share this negative experience with others to give them accurate feedback, too. For experience seekers, I dont recommend kampos beach either as it s not worth to go.

First of all, by defending the unacceptable behavior of your employee and the deceit used to attract tourists, you have revealed that it’s not just the employee but the entire establishment that operates in such a disgraceful manner. We heard complaints from all the other guests present that day as well. Your response also shows a lack of comprehension and reasoning skills since my comments about the orders were clearly misunderstood. Furthermore, even if we had only ordered water, it would have been our legitimate right based on the initial information provided by your waiter. If I were in your position, operating a business for only 3-4 months a year, I would not stoop so low as to prioritize baseless defenses over customer satisfaction. Every word you've written here legitimizes my review and disgusts potential future customers. Continue ensnaring those unfortunate enough to fall into your trap. Low standards, inappropriate behavior, deceitful practices, and defending such actions are all marks of a poor establishment. Places like yours should stay far away from me. I wish I had only ordered water and not given a penny to such a business....
Read moreThis place right on the beach is in a prime location and the staff are very welcoming and friendly. The food served during our visit was the special of the day and it was lamb being cooked at the roadside which in its self draws people's attention. We more or less were compelled to have a meal here by the attentions of the waiter. We initially ordered two frappes without seeing any menus ( mistake number 1) then after a while invited to be seated for food which to be honest we were interested in the spit roast cooking by the road side.e were offered Greek salad and tzatziki, and then spit roast lamb with French fries. We agreed! All in all the food was very good and the service also good, However after the meal we asked for the bill and was charged 83.50 Euros which included a beer and a coke.. We paid this and of course, as being British we never seem to complain, and all we can say after the event is that the cost was excessively high for what we had.. We feel that not seeing a menu and not receiving an itemised bill is not the standards acceptable and believe that it is a legal requirement under greek law to provide an itemised bill so the establishment needs to step up and comply to the requirements and more so to the traditional customary Greek honesty and respect to it's visitors. We would not visit this place again and sincerely warn others to be more aware than we was. After receiving a reply to our review which was totally denile. I ask if they would be brave enough to state the actually charges of my bill. Two frappa, one coke, one beer, one Greek salad, one tzatziki, two lamb and chips....
