Taverna Nikolas — Restaurant in Patmos Municipality

Arki is a small island with a small port and limited tavern options, but Taverna Nikolas is the right choice. It's a typical family-owned restaurant with no frills, yet the customer service is exceptional. Nikolas, the owner, runs this place since 1995. He is very upbeat and easy to talk to.

We ate both lunch and dinner at the tavern, and the food was delicious, featuring local delicacies. I highly recommend trying the local salad with caper leaves, fresh squid, and grilled octopus. If you're lucky, the fishermen might have caught some Sinagrida, you'll get to see how skilled is the family at the grill

Last year we checked the menue and did not like it. This year we decided to try it Arki salad a big bowl with a huge fresh cheese enough for 2, the grilled octopus 4 legs were good also, the surprise was the sword fish enough also for 2 as 2 big slices with frenchfries on the plate, really fresh juicy and tasty. The desert a chochlate bisquit creme and a lemon cheescake was delicious aswell. Some people commented the price which was in total cheap. Nikolas was kind and friendly. Arkhi is a quiet and cozy island with only the necessaries at its essentials. Arkhi salad, giant beans.. goat was perfectly cooked and served by family. Whatever we asked for turned out well cooked and served. We are thankful as guests and kindly recommend. No dessert section on the menu, but we had a yummy slice of lemon cheesecake and another delicious traditional dessert. So make sure to ask for dessert. And the model boats on the photo are made by Nikola’s father. Nice touch. Very reasonably priced...
