This is a nice restaurant, it's definitely one of the good ones from Kefalonia... but we weren't overly impressed, unfortunately.
I'll go through what we served: For starters, I tried the melitzanosalata (which is "salata de vinete" for us Romanians). It was good, but I prefer it with onion instead of garlic... this is how we prepare it in Romania and the taste is very different because of that. This is a subjective preference, of course; I also tried the Saganaki, which is fried local goat cheese. It was good but very salty and dry, and it was just a thin slice. I know it's a starter, but I found it to be a very small portion for 7€, in my opinion. My girlfriend tried the Rocket salad, which was good. The lettuce & rocket were fresh, the dried tomatoes were tasty, it's only the dressing that we believe it missed something for more taste. But it was good. For the mains, I tried the Mousaka, which is served in a ceramic pot. I'm a very big fan of this dish but unfortunately, the minced meat contained a condiment which I didn't enjoy. The bechamel sauce was very good, but I could barely taste the meat because the condiment overpowered its taste almost entirely. On top of that, the dish was very fatty and the melted fat laid on the ceramic pot floor. My girlfriend had the grilled sea bass, which came with the fries. The fish was fresh and tasty, but it was too dry... meaning that it was left too much on the grill.
The bill was a reasonable 58€
Last but not least, there are a lot of begging cats around the tables. I do love cats very much but I don't like being disturbed when eating.
I had high expectations for this restaurant but I left slightly disappointed.
P.S. The Kaiser beer is a good pilsner, if you're looking for a beer with a...

During our recent holiday on the beautiful island of Kefalonia, we had the pleasure of dining at Restaurant Alexandros not once, but three times. What a fantastic experience each visit was!
From the moment we walked in, we felt immediately welcomed. The friendly staff made sure we felt at home and provided excellent service throughout the evening. The ambiance of the restaurant is warm and inviting, with a charming traditional Greek atmosphere.
The menu at Alexandros is a true feast for lovers of traditional homemade Greek food. Each evening, we started with a selection of mezes: the tzatziki was perfectly creamy and the fried calamari was crispy and flavorful. Each dish was clearly prepared with love and care.
For the main course, I chose the brizolles, which were superb. The juicy and perfectly grilled pork chops were full of flavor, deliciously seasoned, and accompanied by a fresh salad and crispy fries. My wife opted for the paidakia, the grilled lamb chops, which were tender and full of flavor, perfectly grilled with a subtle hint of lemon. Both dishes were a real delight and a tribute to the Greek grilling tradition.
What truly sets Alexandros apart is the great quality of the food combined with great prices. The portions are generous, and the prices are excellent for the outstanding taste and freshness of the ingredients.
In short, Restaurant Alexandros is an absolute must-visit for anyone staying on Kefalonia. It combines the rich flavors of traditional Greek cuisine with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, making every meal an unforgettable experience. We can't wait to...

Forty-five minutes later, drenched in sunlight and anticipation, we arrived at the sanctuary of Alexandros. Our mortal cravings were soon to be satisfied. The Greek salad, a vibrant masterpiece of fresh ingredients, was a bountiful harvest from the Olympian gardens. As if to complete this feast of the gods, the Greek orange pie arrived. Its sweet, citrusy embrace was the perfect finale to a meal that transcended mere sustenance. In that moment, atop the mountain, surrounded by beauty and flavour, we felt truly blessed. Alexandros was more than a restaurant; it was a sacred site where mortals could commune...
