It is in a really beautiful location next to the water. The service was very quick, however those were the only positives. After we got our food we were swarmed by wasps- this was no exaggeration. The wasps were landing on our food and chewing things- something I'd never seen before.

Now this was not the fault of the restaurant, however, we came inside with our food to keep away from the wasps- we asked our waiter if my partner could get a fresh plate of food, something we'd pay for as the meal was not edible now. He kind of huffed and walked off, we waited till we realised we wouldn't be served. No one came to check on us to ask how our meal was, to take our plates away or even tell us we would not be getting fresh food.

We got the bill, which was the wrong bill, one with a lot more things than we ordered. I went back up to the main desk to ask for the bill for our table number- this seemed like a real inconvenience and the waitress was very rude. To add to this, the stale bread we were given without choice was also added onto the bill- I know that some restaurants do this but we literally had 3 pieces of the end of a stale baguette.

EDITED IN RESPONSE TO THE OWNER- I do want to make it clear to anyone who reads the response from the owner and thinks we are just rude people and keyboard warriors. I never do leave reviews but this time I felt the need to warn others.

Funny the owner states we were rude and said we didn't want a replacement, when for the entirety of the meal we spoke to no one about this. I feel the need to express this as the owner makes up lies instead of dealing with the real issues and owning up to the problems. As for the bill, I brought up the wooden table number with me- and I was still given the wrong bill and when I asked for the correct one I was rudely responded to. As I've stated we did not held you responsible for the wasps, but asked for another meal WHICH WE WOULD PAY FOR..

Please avoid this place at any cost, despite other reviews saying they are all for tourists, they definitely have an issue with them. Please view the owners rude responses which are...

Edited: Dear Owner - If You comment the opinion You could refer back to what I've written. Instead of commenting on general opinions and the food You chose to be an internet psychologist - so sad that You were not so consoling during my visit there.

Let's start with the worst aspect of this place - each meal, an employee/waiter comes up to you and repeatedly encourages you to take out your phone and give the place a positive rating - without even asking if everything was actually okay. A very pushy and rude man - if you do not definitely refuse, he sits over your head and even shows you and tells you what to write. While some of the participants of the trip showed assertiveness, I myself witnessed how the table next to me this guy tormented two young girls for several minutes who were not brave enough to shoo him away. The MyTours agency takes You to this place during tours through Kefalonia but do not mention about other better places in the area. The only advantage of this place is the beautiful location - a large selection of tables inside, in the garden or on the beach. When it comes to food, I ordered Pasta with Shrimps. Of course, at the same time that the other 50 people on the trip also ordered something. The waiting time of about 30 minutes is understandable - few waiters, crowds of tourists. Unfortunately, the dish arrived cold, and the waiter replied that nothing would be done about it, quoting that it was "pasta with shrimps prepared in a local way." The pasta itself was terrible - a huge plate of overcooked pasta - like it would stay in the water for hours. Pasta topped with plain tomato puree. No herbs, spices or garlic in the sauce - you are just given two little bags of pepper but You won't find salt, pepper or olive on the table. On top of that overcooked pasta there were six shrimps. The price list is not intuitive, and you also have to go to the cash register after finishing your meal, where you will find out how much the bill is by showing your table number - there is no way the waiter will bring...

Oh god where to start….

It was horrible. One of the worst restaurants I’ve ever been to. I saw this place had bad reviews but still 3.9/5 is not too bad so I decided to give it a chance… worst decision.

  1. The menu was very vague and had to ask for clarification multiple times. Many dishes did not have a price as the prices were filled out by hand on each individual menu. Also they were dirty and sticky.

  2. The waiter was cold/rude, and in a rush, did not let you finish asking a question before talking over you.

  3. Food was absolutely disgusting (see photo). Roasted chicken with potatoes was a piece of atleast 2 day old chicken-thigh, that had been microwaved, yet still COLD. The plate came filled with oily liquid (chicken’s melted fat) and looked like a soup🤢. The potatoes were also cold and the edges were hardened/burnt.

  4. FULL of wasps. As I’m trying to force myself to eat, so that the food and money does not go to waste a swarm of wasps flying around our food, face, and mouth.

Please listen to the reviews. Don’t waste your time in this...

I participated in a group tour in Kefalonia and we stopped here to have a lunch before heading to Melissani Cave Lake. The restaurant was in a very picturesque place and the food was good, but, as I was alone, they seated me to a table what seemed to be the waiter's work table. A stack of menus on the wobbly table. I couldn't get a seat by the sea because I was alone and the tables by the sea were for six persons. I really get that, no prob, but, there weren't any customers to occupie the tables by the sea. Not even after when I'd paid my lunch and went strolling around. And, we were told, by our tour operator, that if there's a reserved sign, then the tables are for us to use. Nope, not for solo travelers, it seemed. Well, nevertheless, a pretty place by the sea. If you are travelling with a group, do order immediately because they do ran out of food dish options pretty soon. At least during the high season. Eat first, explore and swim later.

After a long trip to Sami and a visit to the beautiful Melissani cave, it was an unforgettable experience to dine in a place like this. The food is just perfect, but it's not only about the food, it's about the atmosphere and unique surroundings. You can eat listening to the sound of waves rushing the sea shore. Me and my wife had a traditional Greek salad, fried Kalamari and chicken souvlaki. Everything was fresh, tasty and well prepared. The taste was rushing on your taste buds giving you an extraordinary experience. The Kalamari was really good with a splash of freshly picked lemons. The chicken souvlaki had a great grill taste that you wouldn't find easily anywhere in Sami. Greeting to Yiorgos who has been very attentive and kind to us. Made us feel really welcomed and we appreciate his hard work. If you don't visit, you have no idea what you are missing. We will be back 😊
