Probably the worst service I had in Greece. The waiters were nodding instead of answering, when we asked whether they had something they replied "I don't know". When we said hello to the owner he didn't reply. Instead he said what would you like without even looking at us. I haven't said anything to my wife, who joint us after 15min or so, and she asked me : "what's wrong with these people ?" Me my friend had few beers, I must say really nicely cold, and then we made a bill of more than 200 euros. They never said "hello" or "thank you" or anything resembling the greek hospitality. And the fact that I was having foreigners with me and I wanted them to experience the greek hospitality, that made it really bad. But all that aside we left and on the way out there was a very nice fig tree and I thought to treat my foreign friends with some freshly handled picked figs. I cut 3-4 figs and I headed towards the sea when I heard someone shouting that I mustn't cut any figs from the tree. I showed my face in order for him to see that it was I who just left his restaurant only to see him saying "their is a sign there which says don't cut the figs" ...a sign that it was so small that it was impossible to see but even if I did see it.....I just left a huge bill in your restaurant!!!!!! I got so sad and embarrassed from my guests when they asked me what was that all about. I went back to the restaurant and I returned the 4 figs. He only said: "why did you cut the figs?" and nothing else! It's my 4th time in kefalonia and this was definitely not the service I expected.

Read moreA very sad occasion, we’d dined here many times before and always been treated kindly and really enjoyed the food. We’d chatted over wine with Oddi about our mutual love of motorbikes. When we returned having ridden many thousands of kilometres to visit the Taverna we were met very rudely by the staff and Oddi who most likely did not remember us and appeared to be upset that we were on a motorbike. Despite the taverna being mainly empty, we were told by the very arrogant waiter that ‘it was normal to have booked’, and we felt very unwelcome and left to eat elsewhere. The food here is very good, but please don’t become one of those unbearably arrogant restaurants that believe you are above your patrons. We were sad to discover the warmth had not been genuine, especially after we had ridden across Europe to visit again. This will be our last time...
Read moreFood good- traditional Greek food. Busy restaurant very pleasant surroundings on beautiful beach. Two v pleasant members of staff which were appreciated. We were served by a sullen young man who didn’t smile or engage in any kind of conversation about the menu. Very rude - we weren’t the only people who noticed his demeanor it was uncomfortable. Also no greeting on arrival from older man who I tried hard to be pleasant to. No ‘ new family’ warm greeting as promised on website. Also animal welfare shocking- two v young pregnant cats and a tom with horrible injuries. Honestly spend some money on getting cats sterilised to avoid such suffering. I don’t want to eat my meal in such circumstances. And feed them properly so they don’t beg. Be kind. Kefalonia lovely but need to step up with animal welfare and courtesy. Shame I even felt the need to...
