Terpsis — Restaurant in Skopelos Municipality

Full of Moskitos (in a season when West Nile virus was announced as a threat in Greece)...mainly because they have a “inner lake” with two ducks (very cute for photos if you are 12 years old). The lake is a clear infestation cradle. It doesn’t seems to be taken care very often. The menu itself is very limited: grilled meat and greek regular starters. They do have something special but you need to order one day ahead...we took the road of checking the place once before ordering a “30 euro, one day notice meal”. I think we took the right decision when we decided never to try the “special” recipe. Mainly because the simple chicken that I ordered in the “trial visit” was not grilled enough. “How can you under-cook chicken meat”, you dare ask, well I will tell you: you put a old man at the grill who spends more time smocking than grilling. We also ordered pork meat...well I’m almost sure you tasted stale pork meat so well roasted that the cook tried to make sure no one can tell how many days have passes since it was out of the fridge. We also had tzatziki and bread but at this place, these didn’t really improve the overall sense of rushed things. House wine. Probably the best thing they have. The service: 3 guys running around in chaos making every simple order take 20 minutes. The food was ready in 15...check paragraph nr. 2 for more details. I haven’t seen the kitchen and rest of the stuff. Kitchen is not open (which is kind of irregular now days). The place: I already spoken about the pond. The location is convenient for the tourists staying nearby and locals of the island who come by car. The “garden” looks ok...if you ignore the “pond” and the insects. The most interesting and nice thing about this place was the one eyed cat they have...

Ωραίος εξωτερικός χώρος. Με καμιά 20αριά τραπέζια λόγω κορωνοϊού που τα εξυπηρετούν 2 άτομα, 1 σερβιτόρος και 1 βοηθός. Όπου αυτό σημαίνει ότι πήγαμε 10 το βράδυ, κάτσαμε σε τραπέζι που είχαν φύγει και ήταν ασυμμάζευτο και ήρθαν να το μαζέψουν 45 λεπτά μετά και φυσικά να πάρουν παραγγελία. Εν τέλει φάγαμε πολύ μετά τις 11 τπ βράδυ. 4 άτομα πήραμε, 1 χωριάτικη, 1 βλήτα, 1 κολοκυθάκια τηγανητά, 3 πιάτα κεφτέδες, 1 μοσχαρίσια, 1/4 τσίπουρο, 3 coca. Η χωριάτικη φυσιολογική Τα βλήτα υπερβολικά αλατισμένα που μόνο με μπόλικο ξύδι ισορροπούσες την κατάσταση Τα κολοκυθάκια η αποτυχία της βραδιάς... κομμένα στο χέρι ούτε αλευρωμένα ούτε περασμένα σε κουρκούτι όπως ήταν τηγανίστηκαν στα ζουμιά τους. Σκέτα νιανιά... Η έκπληξη της βραδιάς τα κεφτεδάκια... Πραγματικά πεντανόστιμα και πολύ μυρωδάτα... Αφού θα τους πρότεινα να βγάλουν το υπόλοιπο μενού και να σερβίρουν μόνο κεφτεδάκια τηγανητά άντε και καμιά σαλάτα (ίσως και το γεμιστό κοτόπουλο που διαβάζω)... Η μοσχαρίσια ήταν η 2η αποτυχία της βραδιάς μετά τα κολοκυθάκια... ψημένη στο τέρμα, είχε στεγνώσει που πραγματικά από μόνη της δεν κατέβαινε... Η αλήθεια είναι ότι δεν είπα να την ψήσουν στα γούστα μου (medium), αλλά από το λεγόμενο well done ως αυτό που έφτασε στο πιάτο μου είχε μεγάλη διαφορά... Εν ολίγοις οποίο ξέρει από μοσχαρίσιο κρέας στα κάρβουνα καταλαβαίνει τι θέλω να πω... Στο τσίπουρο θα περίμενε κανείς να μην πω τίποτα αλλά κάτι έχω να πω κι εδώ... ζήτησα τσίπουρο και με ρωτησαν αν θέλω με ή χωρίς γλυκάνισο... Είπα με και μου έφεραν χωρίς λέγοντας μου ότι είναι με... το γύρισα πίσω εξηγώντας στα παιδιά πως είναι το τσίπουρο με γλυκάνισο... Μετά από 10 λεπτά εκλέξαμε πάπα και καταλήξαμε ότι δεν έχουν τσίπουρο με γλυκάνισο. Αυτό, τίποτα άλλο . 😁 Χωρίς καθυστερήσεις η λυπητερή 84 ευρώ 😲.... (εεεε no comments)

Σε γενικές γραμμές πολύ προχειρίλα και δεν κατάλαβα για πιο πράγμα φημίζεται... Ελπίζω να το ανακαλύψει ο επόμενος από μένα γιατί όχι και 84 ευρώ... Επίσης καλό θα ήταν οι ιδιοκτήτες να έχουν 2 βοηθούς για να μαζεύουν τα τραπέζια... Πολύ μέτρια εμπειρία και δεν θα επέλεγα να ξαναπάω λόγω value...

We fell in love with this place! The staff welcomes you with an open smile, the terrace is beautiful, covered under trees with a little pond in the middle. The food was amazing, so fresh, so tasty! We enjoyed every moment there as well as every bite of our meals! We've been here only twice during our stay in Stafilos, but we will definitely come back and already miss the kindness and the familiar atmosphere which surrounded us!

Also ask for their special house made wine! You will not regret it!
