To distinguish between what you can discover in this location and what is offered in most places, you must be a "connoisseur". After living with my family in Greece for over 12 years, we know how to differentiate, and this location has provided us with that experience.
The place is completely detached from the commercial tourist atmosphere of most places on the island of Thassos, offering you peace and relaxation in an almost mountainous village. The appearance is traditional Greek, very well-kept, tastefully decorated, and very comfortable.
I disagree with a previous comment about menus, prices, and attitude. Those who do not understand Greek hospitality and the way the people of this nation welcome their guests would be better off staying at home. The price paid by the entire group of ladies for coffee and natural lemon juice is what I have often paid for a single coffee and a glass of chlorine-tasting tap water in the countries where the ladies come from. And all this without a smile from the waiter, even with the tip paid.
The menu is offered immediately, the prices are written down, not made up on the spot, and are very fair. I might add that for the quality offered, they are truly exceptional. For example, paidakia (παιδάκια) can be found on the menus of many taverns, but it is difficult to be satisfied with the real thing. Here, I had the pleasure of enjoying it without any doubt..... after many attempts in Greece.
Everything we ordered was exceptional, with a taste rarely found elsewhere. The cooking method is well developed, combining the freshness of the products with Greek flavors and spices. I learned that those who cook here attend dedicated schools. A steak here is not just a piece of meat thrown on a grill; it is culinary art.
We chose to drink a house wine, not bottled, we were impressed by its aroma and bouquet, which harmonized perfectly with the main courses we chose.
The owner grows the vegetables he uses as ingredients, as appetizers, or for garnishes and salads. And everything is real, it's not just advertising.
A refined fruit-based dessert ended our meal but sparked our desire to return.
High-quality, authentic Greek music at the perfect volume delighted us throughout our stay at Bethel.
Throughout our dinner, Γεώργιος (George), the owner, came by many times to check on us and paid close attention to our satisfaction.
We can only express our gratitude to Γεώργιος for the special evening. We can't wait to return to this fantastic place with “beautiful” people.

Read moreGreat place, the owner was very nice, when it was time to show us the menu he actually took us to the kitchen to pick what we want to eat - meat and vegetable. They have vegetables from their own garden and homemade desserts/lemonade/orangeade. The atmosphere was amazing and actually what we were looking for - a classic old tavern with homemade food❤️ they have some cats and a little dog which were very cute and playful. We were 8 people and ate meat fries greek salads and three appetizers salads + desserts which was 166euros. They do accept card but is not working every time so you...
