Taverna Petsas — Restaurant in Thassos Municipality

A few days ago, a group of 10 friends, we left the place of accommodation and - after many kilometers - we arrived "here". 6 of us were carried by the nostalgia of the first experience, from the year 2021. I promised the other 4 a magical evening. Unfortunately, the evening started badly because of the arrogance with which she spoke to us - right from the beginning - the young woman who two years ago was kind and who shared with us the story of the restaurant from the very first moments (which blossomed after she returned from studies). We tried to overcome the disappointing attitude of the host, but - unfortunately - chaos followed. We received the food with difficulty, we had to insist that all 10 of us receive it, and 3 of them received the food after all the others had finished eating. All that I found, the same as 2 years ago, and which saved the evening was the live music of the two men, whom I found out - also two years ago - that they are the godfather and grandfather of the one who now delivered us an incomprehensible arrogance and unacceptable. The perfect place for the real greek thing. If you want to experience how Thassos was 80 years ago you are right here. You just not must have hope in high service, but this belongs to the real greek experience too. The food was really good and the prices are very fair, if you value the fact that they play almost every night in the summer greek live music. And what music! The food was incredible. The most authentic, delicious food on the island of Thassos. It’s a good price for the food you get with fantastic portion sizes. The taverna is in a village square that boasts character and the ambience was incredible. After our delicious meal, we were treated to authentic music played by George and his friends in to the late hours of the evening and then given complimentary watermelon towards the end of the night.
