The small Taverna is on top of the mountain, in Kastro village, the oldest village on Thasos island. It’s the only taverna in the village. It only has like 4-5 indoor tables (outdoor are enough and the view is amazing, but the island is flooded by hornets, literally anywhere you go). The athmosphere was exceptional, with live music. The zuchinni we ordered were overfried, hence the 4* for food. But the eggplant with cheese was absolutely insane! One of the best we ate. Read moreVery attractive small restaurant in the heart of a unique stone village. The owner Kostas is a friendly and humorous fellow who will entertain you with jokes, magic tricks and mind puzzles. He speaks German and English and seems to attract quite a few German tourists. He is also the keeper of the keys to the two churches in the village and will personally show you the older and bigger one, that is next to his restaurant.
The variety of meals is quite limited, but the food is OK. Kostas also sells high quality olive oil, olives and honey.
