O Vasilis — Restaurant in Thassos Municipality

Very good quality of food and a beautiful on the hill location with a nice view BUT... 1) The different/special plates are available only on weekends (during August.. Seriously ??!!!) so, your choices remain the all-time classic ones. 2) The absolutely non-hospitable and unfriendly behavior of the very same owners makes you wanna leave the place immediately !!! They were JUST ON TIME to confirm this "image" with their ironic denial of service attitude.. if you plan to ask for something extra that they cannot charge for, FORGET IT ! You are not a client, just a pocket to them ! Also, consider the fact that i'm a native (not a local though..), whatever that means.. A nice place to have dinner or lunch. We've been a larger group and we arrived near of closing time, but we still have been served. The waitress was very kind and we received free water and the begging and dessert at the end. The road was very interesting and beautiful, and it worth to be done to have dinner in such a wonderful place like this. I couldn't see the view, because it was night, but during the day, you could see the sea from heights. In the night it's very quiet and peaceful. The tavern it's a big mountain caban, nice decorated and warm. We had a suprise to see that the kitchen is open and you can take a look, while you were going down stairs to the bathroom. Myself & my partner came here early June 2018, we went to Vasilis Taverna after reading the great reviews on here plus I wanted to take my partner somewhere traditionally Greek. We love Greek food and what a treat this taverna is for someone who appreciates amazing Greek cuisine. This meal was the cheapest evening meal we had whilst on the island! I had Stuffed lamb, my partner doesn't usually like lamb but she loved the lamb here. The location of the taverna is perfect for the amazing views you can take in as shown from my pictures.
