Akrogiali — Restaurant in Volos Municipality

If parking in Volos scares you, head a little ways out of town for this seaside restaurant instead. My parents and I ate outdoors, under their covered patio; though a glance or two indoors shows a simple, clean, modern (albeit spare) interior with a gas fireplace. The patio was pretty lovely, though, as the ocean is right there.

Our server was friendly and polite. Daily specials were, largely of course, seafood fare—though not just. We ordered a straightforward lunch of fresh-caught fried codfish, Greek salad, and a pork gyro plate with tzatziki. Fresh-baked bread was included, as is common in Greece. Despite being mid-May, the cucumbers and tomatoes were spectacularly tasty; Americans under 45 years-old will balk at our vegetables, by comparison, because nothing in the United States tastes this good (not even heirloom tomatoes). The fish was the standout, though, with a crisp lite breading and flaky texture and succulent flavor.

This restaurant was a surprise find for us, unplanned. But if I return to Pelion one day, I would return to eat...

Με μία μόνο λέξη.....Α Π Α Ρ Α Δ Ε Κ Τ Ο ! ! ! ! Σε μία τουριστική περιοχή όπως η Αγριά Μαγνησίας, μία καταπληκτική Ανοιξιάτικη μέρα που περιμένανε πολύ κόσμο, το κατάστημα απλά προτίμησε να λειτουργήσει με τους ρυθμούς μιας καθημερινής μέρας, χωρίς προσωπικό και με ανύπαρκτη οργάνωση. 2 σερβιτόροι και ένας βοηθός για 15 τραπέζια στη θάλασσα και άλλα τόσα μέσα στο μαγαζί. Τραπέζια που εξυπηρετούνταν με συνεχή ροή και άλλα που δεν είχαν ούτε ένα μπουκάλι νερό. Χρόνος αναμονής μας μόνο για παραγγελία ....1 ώρα και 10 λεπτά. Χρόνος σερβιρίσματος ..... αόριστος. Η ποιότητα των εδεσμάτων πραγματικά πολύ κακή. Το χειρότερο όμως κατά τη γνώμη μου ήταν η ΑΠΑΡΆΔΕΚΤΗ συμπεριφορά του προσωπικού. Αγένεια στο μέγιστο βαθμό. Να ακούς το σερβιτόρο να λέει επιδεικτικά στο βοηθό "πες τους ότι θα δώσουν παραγγελία μετά από μία ώρα" δείχνοντάς μας και αυτό 1 μέτρο μακρυά από το τραπέζι. Να του ζητάς το λόγο και να μη σου απαντάει καν. Η όποια καθυστέρηση θα μπορούσε λόγω της ημέρας να δικαιολογηθεί. Η αγένεια και η αδιαφορία προς τον πελάτη όμως σε καμία περίπτωση. Δυστυχώς μια βιαστική επιλογή μπορεί να σου...
