I went with my family mostly because the view looked nice online. We have been coming to Greece for 20 years and have been to a lot of restaurants. Ippokampos is one of the very best we have visited in terms of food and service.
We arrived before most people had arrived and got a good table under the big tree. We had a very nice view over a small beach. . The service was attentive and the owner Nikos came over to greet us and take our initial order. He and the rest of the staff were all friendly and very focused on service.
The food came and out and it was excellent. The first thing we noticed was the portion size - the dishes were all impressively large. We ordered two salads for 4 people but we would have been fine with just 1 as they were enormous. We ordered the grilled octopus to share - it was truly excellent, one of the best we have had. We also had fried calamari, the grilled calamari and osso bucco. They were all excellent, particularly the grilled calamari and osso bucco. We were too stuffed to order dessert by the end but they brought out mini ice creams which were hard to resist.
The price was excellent for what we had - dinner for 4 people with drinks for a little over €90 plus tip. Food and service terrific - Nikos and his restaurant have our top...

We waited for someone to take the order and after that it was waiting and waiting we waited for almost 25-30 minutes between each plate, after reaching every waiter and they were young guys almost with no experience. The food was ok, but nothing is worth it if you need to wait for 1.5 hours for the final dish to be served after talking to almost everyone in the restaurant, we also waited for the check at the end. We had after that tomahawk pork steak: the presentation on a wood plater and cooked at perfection. The dorada was huge, the vegetables on a steak.
