Marea Restaurant — Restaurant in Zagora - Mouresi Municipality

Ate there twice. All in all ok, but there is room for improvement. The lamb was consistently delicious and tender. Great, large pork steak and nice fries. Absolutely amazing zucchini patties served with tzatziki, but they are not large and you get a tame amount (7 pieces for 4 people). The pork medallions with cheese were disappointing, too much cheese just sitting on top, masking everything else, and the meat was chewy and I felt like the execution was lacking the sophistication the restaurant is attempting to exhibit otherwise. The sea bass was nicely done, but small and no ladolemono on the side. Fresh delicious squid but small serving with a lot of greens on the side and the price was... spicy. Original ideas with regards to the salads, but still, I felt like the 'costly' ingredients were being used very very sparingly.

The view from the balcony is great. The service is kind and efficient, however both times we ate outside of rush hour. About €87.- price for dinner for 4 people. It felt rather expensive because of the variable portion sizes and hit or miss recipes. A bit of complimentary watermelon for dessert, which is appreciated but the amountmade me feel kind of... cheap. You can order other more elaborate desserts if you want (for a price).

It is probably the best choice in the area of Chorefto - Zagora - Pouri, but the standards of the area are sadly very low. There is a general tendency towards commericialization and lack of personality, small portions, ways to 'cheapen' the food. We felt generally very exploited while in the area and the food was at best average. For the area it's good, for general Greek standards it definitely leaves a lot...

Καλησπέρα σας,η βαθμολογία η σωστή με βάση αυτά που φάγαμε θα ήταν 3,5 στα 5 αλλά η γενική εικονα του μαγαζιού σας με κάνει να αναθεωρήσω σε 4 για την καλή σας διάθεση. Μετά από ένα 5αρι που έβαλα προχθές σε ένα μαγαζί στην Αγία Κυριακή τρώγοντας παρόμοια πιάτα κ έχοντας την σύγκριση πολλή νωπή θα σας πω την γνώμη μου πιστεύοντας ότι ήταν άτυχη στιγμη κ δεν φάγαμε εξαιρετικά αλλά απλά μέτρια προς καλά. Να πω πριν ξεκινήσω ότι το service ήταν εξαιρετικό όπως κ η θέα του μαγαζιού.Δυστυχως εμφανίστηκαν μέλισσες αλλά το service μας έφερε σχετικά γρήγορα ελληνικό καφέ να βοηθηθούμε. Πήραμε έναν σολωμό που ήταν καλός,μια τσιπούρα που επίσης ήταν καλή..πήραμε επίσης κ γαρίδες όπου δεν ήταν καλές,δεν ξέρω αν φταίει η πρώτη ύλη.Επισης το καλαμάρι ήταν σκληρό κ είχε κ μια άσχημη επίγευση. Τα ορεκτικά ήταν καλά.Δυο από τα τέσσερα κυρίως πιάτα δεν ήταν νόστιμα κ είχαμε κ πρόσφατη σύγκριση. Πιστεύω όμως από την γενική εικόνα ότι ήταν μια άτυχης στιγμή κ ότι η καλόπιστη κριτική μου θα συμβάλει στην εξάλειψη αστοχιών εκ μέρους...

Noch gestern hatte ich 5 Sterne für Petros am Strand vergeben. Zu Recht. Nun war ich heute im Marea, und da rächt es sich, dass es nicht mehr Sterne gibt. Man sitzt auf der Terrasse des Hotel Marabou hoch über dem Trubel der Stadt und sieht aufs Meer. Klaviermusik läuft im Hintergrund. Das sehr freundliche Personal ist ausgebildet, auch das hebt dieses Restaurant von denen des Orts ab. Aber die Küche hebt natürlich alles ab. Der Fisch war fangfrisch und perfekt. Das Gemüseomelett war zwar von der Form her eher ein Gemüserührei, aber das tut dem Geschmack keinen Abbruch. Das chórta me avga, Spinat mit Eiern, ein einfaches Gericht zwar, war aber eine Geschmacksexplosion. Großer Respekt! Und die (übrigens kostenlose) Zitronecreme war unglaublich lecker. Die Vorspeisen wie der Rote-Beete-Salat oder die gebackenen Zucchini, ein Gedicht. Der Wein perfekt. Für alle Nachteulen ist der Weg vom Strand hoch beleuchtet, was durchaus ein Vorteil ist.
