We have been returning here since our first trip when we called in on a coach trip 22 years ago. Back then the embroidery and cushion covers were next to the restaurant and not in teh basement. We still use the table-cloth at Christmas that we bought on our initial visit.
When you drive around the north of the island, all roads seem to lead to Volimes, and we take advantage of that during our holidays. We called in a few times this year for brunch/lunch.

I had the best moussaka of my life here — rich, creamy béchamel, perfectly cooked layers of eggplant and meat, and that golden crust on top was absolute perfection. It’s a casual and relaxed tavern vibe with front patio seating. Nothing fancy at all. Lo and behold, though, it’s a 5-star rated place.
