Selene tavern — Restaurant in Zakynthos Municipality

This is a delightful local restaurants which serves local and foreign food. Like many restaurants on the island, the pizza's are not made in a pizza oven however they are handmade.

The Tavern is a third generation restaurants that has a lovely story, founded in the year of the moon landing (1959) and named after the Greek goddess Selene, a Titan goddess in Greek mythology, goddess of the moon, which she drove every night across the skies. This was our best find for eateries at the island. The owner is very very sweet and warm and it is visible in her superb hosting skills. The food is undoubtedly delicious and she has great options for vegetarians as well.

We loved the restaurant so much that we happily drove 30 minutes in opposite direction to have another meal.
