Taverna The Windmill is a true culinary treasure that captures the heart and soul of Greek dining. From the moment we stepped inside, we were welcomed with such warmth and hospitality that we felt like family.

The food here is simply amazing. I've had kolokithokiftedes (zucchini fritters) all over Greece, but these were hands-down the best. Perfectly crispy on the outside and soft and flavorful on the inside, they were a true delight.

The selection of mezedes was outstanding. The shrimp saganaki, with its succulent shrimp in a rich tomato sauce topped with feta, was divine. The farmer's salad was fresh and vibrant, a perfect balance to the richer dishes.

One of my favorites was the riganada. This traditional eptanishian dish, with its fresh tomatoes, olive oil and herbs, was bursting with flavor. The lamb meatballs in tomato sauce were tender and delicious, and the zucchini sticks were wonderfully crunchy and addictive.

The feta saganaki served on a bed of red pepper sauce was another highlight. The combination of the creamy, salty feta with the sweet and slightly spicy pepper sauce was heavenly. We also tried the splinantero, a dish of liver that was cooked to perfection and seasoned just right – a real treat for those who love trying something different.

And then there was the moussaka. Rich, savory, and layered with flavors, it was the best moussaka I've ever had. Each bite was a comfort, a warm reminder of why Greek cuisine is so beloved.

Taverna The Windmill isn’t just about the food, though. The view is stunning and the staff makes you feel like you're dining with old friends. It’s the kind of place where every meal feels like a special occasion.

I can’t recommend Taverna The Windmill enough. Whether you're a local or a visitor, this place is a must-visit for anyone wanting to experience the true taste and...

A Hidden Gem in Keri, Zakynthos Island - The Windmill

We stumbled upon "The Windmill" in Keri during our visit to Zakynthos Island, and it quickly became the highlight of our trip! Perched up on a hill, it offers breathtaking views of the sea and Marathonissi Island – an absolute paradise for the eyes.

Our first visit was for breakfast, and we were blown away by the quality. The Greek coffee was rich and flavorful, and we were introduced to a marvelous dessert called "frygania" that we couldn't get enough of. The experience was so delightful that we couldn't resist coming back for dinner.

On our second visit, we enjoyed a sumptuous dinner with friends. The fish and meat were cooked to perfection, exactly as we ordered. The flavors were incredible, and it was evident that the ingredients were fresh and of high quality. The staff was exceptionally friendly, making us feel right at home, and the prices were more than reasonable considering the superb quality.

What made this place even more special was the atmosphere. We were a diverse group – my wife, our baby, and friends from different countries and cultures – and everyone left satisfied and happy. The combination of magnificent views, delicious food, and warm hospitality made The Windmill a must-visit spot on Zakynthos Island.

If you're in Keri, don't miss out on this hidden gem. It's an experience you...

We discovered The Windmill while driving around Zakynthos and it became a must-visit spot! The Zakynthian Frygania is a Must-Order! We initially just came in for a drink, but after being warmly greeted and checking the menu, we ordered the recommended Zakynthian Frygania dessert—it was absolutely amazing. We learned they make it fresh every day! We tried this local dessert at other locations during our holiday, and none even came close to this one. We even went out of our way on our last day just to have it one more time. Great Food and Warm Service: We ended up returning several times for lunch and dinner, which was also excellent, especially the daily local specialty dishes. The staff's love for good food and creating wonderful moments truly shows in their warm smiles and service. Don't Forget the View: To top it all off, the view looking out to Keri is absolutely spectacular—another fantastic reason to sit, relax, and enjoy a meal or...
