Run by Alison, this place is one of the best restaurants and bar with amazing vistas and sunsets on the island, plus has regular speedboat runs to Sandy Island , famous for the Bounty advert many years ago.
The beach is world class.
New additional veranda just built.
Simon, a waiter from Guyana is very attentive, as are the local staff, and expats employed by Alison.
Very good sensibly priced decent wine, cocktails and all the usual.
The bonus here is it isn't a one stop pony; the range of food dishes is good and very well prepared, good service. Similar range to a four star hotel but fresher food.
Best pizzas in the area, toppings galore. Fresh fresh fish, huge lobster, barracuda and also nummy snacks cooked but priced to compete.
Had lobster one night which was delicious , but they also do a range of specials, and the menu changes nightly.
Staff very friendly, captains of the speed boats also work as chefs. Fresh lobster delivered from local fishermen every morning, barracuda etc and other seasonal freshly caught fish arrives at least twice a day.
Popular with locals, expats and yachting crowd for service, ace atmosphere, special event evenings and we also witnessed Wednesday boatsign painting fun...
Evenings also have entertainment including bands and singers, bonfires etc.
Been twice, running out of time but would visit again as many people do, will probably go on our last day.... considering the quality of other venues on the island, I give this place 5 stars for food service friendliness and...
Read moreAs someone who has worked in the restaurant/dining industry, I am normally highly critical. This is why i never write reviews on google. Tonight was different. To the point where it stood out so much… in a good way, that now I felt like I had to write a review.
We called ahead and scheduled a pickup from an employee of the restaurant (something I’ve never done but definitely part of the experience). Aaron, the man, came out to our boat by Sandy Island and got us right on time. He brought us ashore where we walked right up to the beachside restaurant. The hostess asked us what boat we came from and we let her know, she pointed us to our table and there was a blackboard with the boat name already written on it before we got there. Stand-out, unforgettable service - check
Our food was delicious. Our table ordered the catch of the day which was king fish today. The presentation, mango salad on top with the lemon cream sauce was phenomenal. Piña Coladas were affordable and dangerous, in a good way. Great food/drink - check
From the live music, sunset viewed beach, and the extremely pleasant employees, and owner, Allison, it was the best night to start off our week long journey around the grenadines. Allison was extremely pleasant and, you can tell when someone loves their job. That makes a big difference on the staff around you, which trickles down to those who dine under your roof. 5/5 and we will be back again...
Read moreExcellent. Really excellent. Carriacou is not high in the culinary stakes but this is a pleasurable exception. We went last night for a special sashimi and sushi night EC$80 per head for 4 courses. Accompaning beers did not add much to the tab, nor were there hidden extras. I was well pleased with the price as some other restaurants are similar for 2 courses without the food quality. The location on the beach is fantastic. It's secluded from adjoining properties by natural bush. We drove the dinghy from our boat anchored at Sandy Island but it's easy by bus from Hillsborough or Tyrell Bay maybe with a taxi to come back late. Allison the owner introduced herself and mentioned she has had time both in South Africa and the USA. This shows in every facet of the night including some small but unique for Grenada features like the desert platters: Simple square glass sand blasted. The only error was ours: The waitress said the sushi dish included an avacado salsa so my GF put a full fork of the green paste in her mouth. Of course it was Wasabi! A great night, perfect location, terrific food, good price, great staff and owner. Oh, and a...
