We wanted to try Korean BBQ in Guatemala but this place was disappointing. Service was terrible. We were a party of five and one of 2 tables at the restaurant at the moments they were not busy but service was slow. It was our first time here and the server Evelyn never explained anything about the menu or how everything worked. We had to keep asking her questions. We wanted to try the BQQ and order some meat to start. The meat they served was barely anything for the amount of money we payed per cut. It was 6oz for $25 dollars. I asked the server to leave a menu since we were going to keep ordering. However, once they served the first cut of meat they never bother to come back to the table. We wanted to eat more as the mere 12oz of meat that we payed $50 dollars for was not enough. Since they didn’t come back we decided not to keep ordering and finished what we had. They also served no rice (it was extra) and the only complementary dishes were an egg soup and eggs that couldn’t even be shared. We had to ask for more sauce (sesame oil) since they only brought a 3 tiny dishes out and we were five. We had to ask for a pitcher of water since they only brought out a small cup. We decided to just ask for the check and leave and even then we had to get up and pay on the front because they wouldn’t come to our table. On top of everything, they charged %10 gratuity. Be warned, this restaurant is...
Read moreI would like to commence by acknowledging the quality of the cuisine, which it was good (at least the little that we got to try). However, I am regrettably compelled to express my dissatisfaction with the overall dining experience due to the abysmal service we encountered. Our server was conspicuously absent when we sought assistance, and it was disheartening to endure a wait exceeding 10+ minutes merely to place our order. It is pertinent to mention that our party was the sole occupants in the establishment at the time, making this delay inexplicable.
As time elapsed, the restaurant gradually filled with patrons, exacerbating the already subpar service. Notably, our server, Evelin Vasquez, consistently neglected our table while favoring a subsequently arriving, ostensibly American family (white people). This glaring discrepancy in treatment gives rise to suspicions of discrimination.
Desafortunadamente, no disfruté de mi comida y me vi forzado a salir. La falta de profesionalidad y respeto por parte de la mesera me forzó a dejar este comentario y a no querer recomendar el restaurante a nadie. I hope the manager or the owner takes this into account and train their staff to be more professional and not...
Read more99% authentic Korean food in Guatemala. Located in the second floor of a mall named Rambla 10, it’s modern and tidy. The restaurant is clean and well maintained. 5, 6 Banchan (complimentary side dishes) was tasty and refilled upon request. Korean bbq - we had skirt/rib(entraña / asado) - and additional ingredients such as lettuce, sliced garlic / chili (it was jalapeño here), and traditional sauce was pretty authentic. If you order Korean BBQ, steamed egg and bean-paste soup are provided free of charge. It was nice they provided refreshing towelette so that we could make Ssam (wraps) with our hands. The spicy pork on sizzling pan was also pretty good. Lastly, we had spicy fish in a vinegar-based cold soup. The service was very attentive and careful (from local waitress) and the owner (husband and wife) came to the table from to time to ask anything they could help with. I was impressed with the level of authenticity of this restaurant and the service they offer. It’s definitely on my list in my next visit to Guatemala City. Highly recommended. Mind you, I took two Latin American friends with me, and both of them stuffed themselves and were...
