Had a great Sunday lunch time in the small bar, with pool table and darts. The butcombe bitter was excellent, as was the complimentary roast potatoes and mackerel. The staff were very friendly and locals were on hand to help with the history of the pub. Will have to visit again and sample the main bar and menu.

Food and staff were great three years ago, but updating as we visited again. Lovely friendly staff and food was lovely! Was surprised it wasn't completely packed. Defo worth a visit :) 😀 especially if you are visiting and have no idea where to go!

This poor rating is not for the food which was actually OK but the service and atmosphere is simply shocking in this excuse of a restaurant. We decided to celebrate our daughters 10th birthday there this evening and on arrival we asked for a window seat in an empty restaurant on a Tuesday evening. This was point blank refused by a less than happy waitress and instead we were confined to an out of sight and rather outdated and soulless back room by ourselves. It felt like a throwback to how customers used to be treated in the 1970s. If that wasn't bad enough on a special occasion, then not once did anybody come over to enquire how our meal was, whether we needed further drinks or for that matter whether we wanted dessert. Shockingly poor service and its not for the lack of waiters or waitresses. We decided to leave early and head over to Crabby Jacks for pudding where we managed to save some face with our daughter. We will advise all friends to avoid if they value customer service or...

I have had many nice meals here, sadly the last time I was there I ordered the Singapore noodle and it was extremely salty.... I was unable to eat it. I feel the one thing that lets the service down, is the amount of times that you get asked by different waitresses/ waiters “ are you ready to order” when we had only just sat down! The staff should be given allocated tables to look after, or..... communicate with each other! It was so annoying... then we were given the sweet menu, and again 3 difficult people asked us in a space of 5 minutes if we were ready to order. We hadn’t had the chance to look at the menu! Most annoying I...
