This place is no joke, you have to come hungry or you won’t even finish a quarter of your plate. This is traditional Hungarian food! This place has a very nice garden in the back as well and we were lucky enough to be facing it.
The beef soup as a starter was good. A bit on the salty side but I’m more sensitive to salt. Great flavors and I recommend!
The chicken stuffed with mozzarella, sun dried tomato, with gnocchi is so good. The gnocchi in the cream of spinach sauce was very heavy and garlicky but worth it. Chicken was moist and good proportion with the cheese!
We also got the For 2 Plate with fried chicken, pork, potatoes, rice, etc. It’s a good sampler plate but wow this is the heaviest thing I’ve seen! It was hard to even finish half of it, more left overs for the next days :)
The dessert…..that’s another story. Got the Black Forest and I didn’t realize it came like a sundae in a huge glass. Bits of the cake, ice cream, sour cherries, and a whole lot of whip cream!
I recommend for good Hungarian food and it’s great for...
Read moreThis restaurant is simply amazing. It is a hidden gem (hidden only because it’s not in the central location) but it is so worth the trip.
Me and my family came here 10 years ago right before moving to Canada only because it was close to the hotel we were staying at, but the food was so sensational that we remembered it and came here 10 years later when we visited. Again - the food was amazing, the service was excellent and ambiance - perfect. They even expanded and made a very cozy and scenic patio area in the background. Would recommend this to every person visiting Budapest as I can confidently say this will exceed all your expectations.
Our server was Tomas, and he made sure we got menu’s in English and that our glass was always full and that we had everything we need. Amazing server.
This place has a place in my heart as it is the restaurant me and my family go to when we reunite and we will continue this tradition for as long as this...
Read moreI gave 4 stars for the food based on my previous experience, as this year we did not visit the place in the end thanks to a very rude employee answering the phone when we wanted to book a table. I was inquiring about the gluten free options and I was literally told off, because I did not know that I have to download the menu to be able to see the allergens... (If you check the menu on your phone, there are no allergens at all, only if you download the pdf on your phone.) The guy in the phone was so patronising, irritated and unfriendly that in the end we decided not to eat here, because why should we support a business that clearly does not care and know about customer service? Reading the other reviews, I think we are not the only ones put off by the impolite and rude employees of the place. It`s a pity, because I remember this was not a bad restaurant at all...
